MegaBrain for Mac 1.0.3 brings the Code Factory agent to your Mac as a desktop app. Your projects, threads and plan limits sit in one window, and commands run on your Mac.

New in 1.0.3

• The default model follows your plan. On Pro, Super and Ultra the app opens on Claude Opus 5.5, and on Free and Plus on Auto Free. This now also applies to an install updated from 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 that the app had left on GLM 5.2, and to a plan you buy or cancel later. A model you picked yourself stays.
• Claude, GPT and Gemini with Extra Usage. With Extra Usage on, Free and Plus can use them too, paid from your credits. When a model needs Extra Usage or Pro, the app says so and offers Turn on Extra Usage and See plans. Before, it said "MegaBrain rejected your API key".
• Your sign-in keeps working after that message. Before, the free models also stopped answering for a minute.

• The MegaBrain icon. 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 showed the icon of Hermes, the app MegaBrain is built on.
• MegaBrain is the only provider. It works like Cursor or Factory: the model picker lists MegaBrain's models, and onboarding offers "Sign in with MegaBrain". The app no longer picks up other apps' sign-ins, such as Claude Code or the GitHub CLI.
• The strongest model by default. A new sign-in starts on Claude Opus 5.5 on Pro, Super and Ultra. On Free and Plus it starts on Auto Free, because Claude comes with Pro and above. An existing install keeps the model you chose, and you can switch models any time in the picker.

New in 1.0.1: a much smaller download. The DMG is 441 MB instead of 1.56 GB, and the app takes about 1.2 GB on disk instead of 4.6 GB. The app now ships what a coding session uses. The browser tool (Chromium), computer use and local models (llama.cpp) download their components the first time you use them. So do the optional integrations: messengers, voice, cloud providers.
