English

  • The browser extension recognizes more sign-in pages: Synology DSM, UniFi, Google, Amazon, Reddit and other pages that ask for the user name and password one after the other or keep their fields in web components
  • Two-step sign-in: after UwULock filled in the user name, it fills in the password of the next step by itself when the password field shows up in the same tab within a minute. Nothing is submitted on its own
  • Pages without HTTPS: instead of asking first, the menu in the field and the popup show “HTTP instead of HTTPS – possibly insecure”, and one click fills in. With Ctrl+Shift+L UwULock fills in right away and shows the note briefly
  • Devices on your own network (routers, NAS, printers on private IP addresses or names like .local, .lan, fritz.box) no longer count as insecure and get no note

Browser extension: unpack the .zip and add it at chrome://extensions in developer mode with Load unpacked. The .xpi isn't signed by Mozilla: it stays installed only in Firefox Developer Edition, Nightly or LibreWolf, elsewhere temporarily through about:debugging (guide).

Android: open the .apk on the phone and allow installing from that source; install new versions over it the same way. iPhone: the .ipa is unsigned and only installs through a sideloading tool such as AltStore or Sideloadly with your own Apple ID (guide).

English

  • Search on the iPhone: with the keyboard up the page no longer slides away at the top. Hits show above the keyboard while you type, the “Search” title gets small for them
  • Next to the search field there's now a round back button in line with the field (instead of the vault button)
  • AutoFill on the iPhone: the sheet for filling in passwords now looks like UwULock. Matching logins come first, all logins A to Z below, and search also finds by user name and address (e.g. “mail” for mail.example.com)
  • AutoFill list: if UwULock was switched on as AutoFill in the iPhone or Mac settings (not with the button in the app), AutoFill got no logins. That's where “Nothing found” came from. UwULock now follows the system switch
  • AutoFill list: changes right after unlocking (such as the first sync) were sometimes lost, so AutoFill saw an old or empty list. They're caught up now
  • AutoFill protocol: the app now writes when it stored the list (how many logins and passkeys) or why not. If it can't be read, the reason is shown

English

  • AutoFill on iPhone, iPad and Mac: the fill-in sheet no longer stays empty. It shows “Loading …” and “Cancel” right away, and if the system doesn't let it start Face ID by itself, there's an “Unlock with Face ID” button (Touch ID on the Mac) instead of an error
  • New: AutoFill log under Settings → AutoFill (on the Mac: Settings → AutoFill log). It shows what happened while filling in (without passwords or user names), to copy into a bug report
  • The app can no longer be zoomed by accident (pinch, double tap, Ctrl/⌘ with + and −). Set the text size under Appearance

English

  • Safari extension on Mac, iPhone and iPad: the same extension as in Chrome and Firefox, with its own sign-in, unlock and sync. It comes with the app from the App Store or TestFlight (in the Mac setup once it is notarised). Turn it on on a Mac in UwULock under Settings → “Turn on in Safari”, on iPhone and iPad under Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions → UwULock. In Safari, passkeys and passwords come from the UwULock app as your password and passkey provider

English

  • Import in the app, with every format of the web vault: Bitwarden, Vaultwarden and UwULock (JSON, also password-protected, and CSV), KeePass and KeePassXC (KDBX, XML, CSV), 1Password (1PUX, CSV), Chrome and Edge, Firefox, Apple Passwords (CSV), Proton Pass and LastPass, with one-time codes, passkeys from Bitwarden exports and Wi-Fi networks. The app recognises the format itself, shows what will come in first and encrypts everything on the device. Under Settings → Account → Import (on a Mac also in the Vault menu), on iPhone, iPad and Android under Settings → Import
  • Fill passwords with UwULock on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android: in Safari, other browsers and apps the system suggests matching logins, and after Face ID, Touch ID or the screen lock the password is filled in. On Android also as an autofill service for apps and browsers without Credential Manager
  • iPhone and iPad: passkeys can now be picked right in the system's sheet (for example in Firefox or when signing in with Google), not only from the list in UwULock (fixes “Keychain -25308”). Also more detailed diagnostic logs without any secret data
  • After the first unlock UwULock asks whether it should become the default for passwords and passkeys. “Later” reminds you again after a week, at most three times. Settings show the state and let you set it any time (iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android)
  • iOS 26: take over passwords, passkeys and codes from Apple Passwords (“Export data to another app” → UwULock). You see everything before anything is saved
  • Text sizes like the system's: on a Mac after macOS (13 pt body), on iPhone and iPad after Dynamic Type, on Android after Material 3. UwULock follows the system's text size, and Settings → Appearance → Text size adds Smaller, System, Larger and Largest. Rows and counts are no longer bold
  • The iPhone/iPad app on an Apple silicon Mac now shows the iPad layout instead of tiny text. On a Mac the Mac app is still the better choice: with its own menu bar in your language and Mac sizes

iPhone (iOS 17 and later, unsigned) UwULock-ios.ipa

Windows: if it warns that it "protected your PC", More info → Run anyway.

macOS: open the .dmg and start UwULock Setup. UwULock isn't notarized by Apple (no developer ID): if macOS says it can't check the app, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.

Linux: the .deb and .rpm install system-wide and update themselves (asking for the administrator password); the portable one you just unpack and start with ./UwULock/uwulock, and it doesn't update itself.

English

  • New layout for iPhone, iPad and Android: the bar at the bottom with Vault, Check, Generator and Settings, on iPhone with search beside it. Pages slide in from the right; on iPhone a swipe from the edge goes back, on Android the back button. Pull the overview down to sync
  • Items: swipe right to make one a favourite, swipe left to copy the password or move it to the trash, long-press for all actions. Editing opens as a sheet from the bottom (full screen on Android)
  • Generator with a minimum per character class (uppercase, lowercase, digits, special characters) and, with UwULock Server, masked addresses to go
  • The check at a glance: one score for your passwords, findings grouped by kind, and “Review passwords” step by step
  • iPad: sidebar, list and item side by side; in portrait the sidebar folds over the list. ⌘F searches, ⌘N adds an item
  • Small haptic feedback when tapping and copying on iPhone and Android, can be turned off under Settings → Appearance
  • Sends: share texts and files encrypted, with an expiry date, a password or only for certain email addresses. Any item can be shared as a Send right away, you pick which fields go along
  • Own icons for items: a photo, a file, the icon of a device on your home network or one from UwULock Server's library (colour, light or dark). They are stored encrypted in the vault. Everywhere it now says “icon” instead of “symbol”, as in the web vault
  • iPhone and iPad no longer have update settings: new versions come through TestFlight and the App Store

English

  • Two-step login only once per device: with “Remember this device” (now checked by default) the next login only asks for email and master password – also after a restart, a locked vault or an expired session. In the app (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS) and the browser extension
  • Logging out forgets the device: the next login asks for the code again. If the server no longer accepts the remembered device (expired), UwULock asks for the code once and remembers the device anew
  • New look from the shared UwUSuite design, in the app, the browser extension and the installer: buttons, switches, dialogs, icons and the UwU Sans font as in the other UwU apps. New in the settings: contrast (system, normal, high), in the extension also animations
  • macOS: the system's title bar and a proper menu bar (settings with ⌘,, generator with ⌘G, lock with ⌘L). ⌘W only hides the window, a click on the Dock icon brings it back, auto-lock keeps running. With auto-lock set to “Never (only on quit)” the vault stays open meanwhile: lock it with ⌘L or quit with ⌘Q. The Dock icon now has the size of the other Mac apps
  • iPhone: UwULock shows its own app icon

  • Sicherheit: Prüfung aller neuen Teile (docs/security-review-0.5.md), Funde behoben (wenige bewusst belassen, dort begründet)

English

  • Passkeys shown everywhere: a passkey's site, user name and creation date in the details, and you can delete it
  • UwULock as a passkey provider for the system: a virtual security key on Linux (off until you switch it on), Credential Manager on Android 14+, an AutoFill extension on iOS 17+ and macOS 14+ (works only once the app is signed with an Apple developer account), Windows 11 experimental and off by default. Not yet tried on real devices – feedback welcome
  • Share an item as a Send: with its websites (each by its address in the choice) and, if you like, the one-time code – the Send page shows the item nicely laid out and only live codes, never the secret
  • Generator: minimum counts for lower- and uppercase letters, digits and special characters; the length grows to fit
  • In the last 10 seconds UwULock shows the next one-time code small below, with its own copy button
  • Tidier details: only the first website, the others behind "+n more"; favourite as a star in the editor; the renewal reminder appears only when switched on in the editor
  • A new look like UwUMail: UwU Sans and a font choice per device, new checkboxes and switches, Nyu pops up more often (without animation with reduced motion)
  • Password check: when XposedOrNot is busy, UwULock waits instead of calling the check incomplete, and shows progress per source
  • Security: review of everything new (docs/security-review-0.5.md), findings fixed (a few kept on purpose, explained there)

English

  • New with UwULock Server 0.7: sections of their own, "SSH (UwUSSH)" and "Remote Desktop (UwURDP)" – view, edit, create and delete everything UwUSSH and UwURDP sync through UwULock, on the computer and the phone
  • Hosts by workspace and group, in your order; logins with their password (show, copy, change, make one with the generator), with the domain for UwURDP
  • Every Remote Desktop setting: size, colour depth, audio, clipboard, console session, NLA, wallpaper, graphics pipeline, a gateway with its own login, and drives
  • SSH keys: copy and save the public key, show and save the private key and passphrase, import a key or generate a new Ed25519 key right in UwULock
  • Snippets, port forwards (-L/-R, autostart) and known hosts (view and delete)
  • Deleting works as in the apps: a host takes its port forwards along, its login and key stay; a login or key only goes once nothing points at it any more
  • On a host: copy the command (ssh -p 2222 user@host), an .rdp file without password and drives, and on the computer "Open in UwUSSH/UwURDP", which connects right away
  • Changes from your other devices arrive right away; if someone changed the same thing at the same time, UwULock overwrites nothing and reloads instead
  • Fields a newer UwUSSH or UwURDP knows stay intact when you edit. When the admin switched the suite off, the sections don't show
  • Security: review of the new sections (docs/security-review-0.4.md). UwULock only edits or deletes records it has checked to be authentic – a server can no longer slip in a tampered one; a saved private key is readable only by you; the copied SSH command and .rdp files no longer carry injected options or lines

Deutsch

  • Sicherheit: Prüfung aller neuen Teile (docs/security-review-0.4.md).

English

  • Wi-Fi networks as an item type of their own: network name, password, security and for Enterprise networks the EAP method, identity and certificate, with their own icon and filter. In Bitwarden's apps a network stays a secure note with fields
  • Share a Wi-Fi network as a QR code: phones join it with their camera; the code is made on your device
  • Browser extension: view and copy Wi-Fi networks and show their QR code – they are never offered for filling
  • UwULock on the phone: Android (APK) and iPhone (unsigned IPA for sideloading) with vault, search, copying, one-time codes and the generator, in a phone layout with a drawer and the back button
  • Unlock with fingerprint or face on the phone; the key lives in the Android Keystore or the iOS Keychain
  • On the phone UwULock locks after a minute in the background, and Android allows no screenshots of it
  • Android: join a Wi-Fi network with one tap – confirm it in the system's sheet on Android 11+, Android 10 suggests it; hidden and Enterprise networks (PEAP, TTLS, PWD) too. What Android doesn't take (WEP, for one) is explained, with the Wi-Fi settings opened and the password copied. The iPhone has no such button; the QR code and copying work there
  • Password check in the app, on the computer and the phone: passwords from breaches (Have I Been Pwned, XposedOrNot), sites breached after your last change, reused, weak and http-only logins, and where 2FA would be possible
  • Review one by one: a card per login, swipe or arrow keys, open the page to change it, generate and save a new password (the old one stays in the history), later or ignore – ignored on every device, as in the web vault
  • If you like, your server also checks your addresses at XposedOrNot; it sends them there for that, so UwULock asks first (Settings → Account)
  • Security: review of everything new (docs/security-review-0.4.md). "Open the page & change the password" only opens the login's own site, never an address from the server; on Android a Wi-Fi password only goes to the system's own sheet; on the iPhone the app switcher no longer shows the vault, and UwULock's data stays out of iCloud backups; the auto-lock also counts the time the phone sleeps

macOS: open the .dmg and start UwULock Setup.
