Notes

• macOS users building with OpenMP support: --enable-openmp builds made with Homebrew's llvm clang can abort at run time with OMP: Error #15: Initializing libomp.dylib, but found libomp.dylib already initialized". Homebrew's llvm ships its own libomp.dylib, while Homebrew's fftw links against the library in the separate libomp formula. Both copies can end up in one process, causing above error. Workaround: make sure the linker finds the same libomp that FFTW uses by putting its directory first:

  LDFLAGS="-L$(brew --prefix libomp)/lib -L$(brew --prefix llvm)/lib ..." ./configure --enable-openmp ...

  Do not set KMP_DUPLICATE_LIB_OK=TRUE; it can cause crashes or wrong results. Apple clang with Homebrew's libomp formula and GCC builds are not affected.
