Kos.Ui v0.1.0-rc.1 — first versioned source prerelease
First versioned source prerelease
This is a versioned source snapshot of the portable Kos.Ui Qt Quick component library and its demo workspace. Applications can now pin one immutable release commit and upgrade independently instead of following a shared development working tree.
- Tag:
v0.1.0-rc.1 - Commit:
dd0d5f3e7a7eab75c7bd465f29709d5f86e8091d - Canonical components:
shared/qml; Gallery source mappings use the same implementation. - Includes committed QML, GLSL and matching QSB assets. No new shader baking or component behaviour changes were made to prepare the release.
Integrating an application
Use a Git submodule pinned to this tag's commit. Build shared/qml from the parent Qt project's CMake and link Kos::Ui and Kos::UiPlugin. Use import Kos.Ui in QML. See Components (中文).
The parent project supplies Qt 6.8+ Core, Gui, Qml, Quick, QuickControls2 and QuickDialogs2. Runtime imports also require Qt5Compat.GraphicalEffects and SVG support where used. The Gallery preview separately needs Quickshell. This is not a binary SDK or an installed find_package package.
Each application should record the exact commit, test upgrades, then update its gitlink. Do not automatically follow main or the latest release. An explicit local path override is for development only. GitHub's automatically generated application source archives do not bundle submodule contents; contributors should use git clone --recurse-submodules.
Verification
NkMail was built in Release mode with this exact commit as its default pinned UI dependency (Qt 6.12.0, GCC 16.2.1). Its existing five CTest suites passed: CLI, UI (software/offscreen), core, controller and loopback protocol, 5/5 passed in 32.82 seconds. Tests used synthetic data and local protocol fixtures, not a real mailbox.
A separate clean recursive clone from NkMail's integration commit 2a697b1d48fc632ecc8191be25ec7e432c765171 initialized the UI submodule from GitHub, configured and built in Release mode without a sibling-source override, and passed the same 5/5 suites in 29.89 seconds. Both consumer copies used the exact clean UI commit listed above. The missing-submodule diagnostic and explicit development-path override were also checked.
Builds retain Qt/QML output-directory and local Quickshell-plugin discovery warnings, plus upstream mailio compiler warnings. No warning-free tooling or qmllint acceptance is claimed.
Known limits
- Prerelease: no stable API/ABI guarantee. The QML import version
1.0is independent of this source-release version. - No standalone library/Gallery build or runtime test was performed for this release; no new GPU/material or performance acceptance is claimed. No automatic CI workflow was added.
- Consumer integration tests do not establish complete component coverage, standalone Gallery acceptance or real GPU optics. Shader optics require a supported Qt Quick GPU backend; software rendering uses fallbacks.
- In-window content sampling is not desktop capture or KWin blur. Some controls still use their existing gradient/mask effects.
- GPL-3.0 licensing and extraction provenance remain in
LICENSEandNOTICE.md.
