LakeView Library Management System

Welcome to the LakeView Library Management System! This is a sample web portal for a fictional library called LakeView. The system is implemented using C#, ASP .NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and a SQL Server database as the backend.

The LakeView Library Management System is designed to provide a user-friendly and efficient way to manage library resources. This portal allows library staff and members to perform various tasks related to book management, member management, borrowing, returning books, and more.

Installation

To set up the LakeView Library Management System locally, follow these steps:

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine:
git clone https://github.com/NobleOsinachi/library.git
  1. Install the necessary dependencies:
cd library
dotnet restore
  1. Create the database using Entity Framework Core migrations:
dotnet ef database update
  1. Configure the database connection string in the appsettings.json file:

}
  1. Run the application:
dotnet run

The application will be accessible at http://localhost:5000 by default.

Usage

  1. Navigate to the LakeView Library Management System portal in your web browser.
  2. Log in with your credentials if you are a Patron or sign up as a new member if you are a library user.
  3. Use the intuitive interface to perform various tasks like searching for books, borrowing, returning, and managing member information.
