Release Notes – v2.0.0
🚀 What's new
Laravel 13.x support
Full compatibility with Laravel 13, released on March 17, 2026. The toolkit now supports Laravel 10, 11, 12, and 13 across PHP 8.2, 8.3, and 8.4.
Timeless migrations
Migration files no longer require a date prefix. You can now use simple filenames like create_posts_table.php alongside traditional timestamped files like 2025_01_01_000000_create_users_table.php.
- Automatic detection — no extra configuration needed, just call
hasMigrations()as before - Smart publishing — timeless files receive a sequential timestamp when published via
vendor:publish - Mixed directories — timestamped and timeless files can coexist in the same directory; each is handled individually
loadMigrationsFrom()works for both —canLoadMigrations()loads both formats without publishing
Example
// Works with any combination of timestamped and timeless files $packager->hasMigrations();
// Timeless files get auto-timestamped on publish:
// create_posts_table.php → 2026_03_20_143022_create_posts_table.php
New API methods
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| hasDatePrefix(string $filename): bool | Check if a filename has a standard Laravel migration date prefix |
| shouldPrependTimestamp(): bool | Whether the current migration set contains timeless files |
| getMigrationPublishMapping(): array | Generate source → destination mapping with auto-timestamps |
⬆️ Upgrade guide
Update your composer.json:
{
"require": {
"nyoncode/laravel-package-toolkit": "^2.0"
}
}
Then run:
composer update nyoncode/laravel-package-toolkit
No code changes are required unless your package explicitly depends on Laravel 9 or PHP 8.1.
