What's new

This release provides

• an update to CPT4, including some dearly needed codes for identifying particular CoViD19 vaccinations. Not all of the new CPT4 codes are mapped by now but we selectively targeted currently requested ones. With a future release remaining meaningful (i.e. not reserved) CPT4 concepts will be mapped as well.
• an update to AMT based on the June 2021 version with mappings to standard concepts, with one exception (sadly): newly added vaccine concepts remain unmapped in this version due to issues with processing the current data and target structure.
• a major overhaul of the VA Products vocabulary that has also been renamed to VANDF.
• the addition of 20 vaccination concepts to the CVX vocabulary
• an update to the Belgium GGR vocabulary
• a regular update of NDC
• a small number of OMOP extension entries (such as eye fundus examination results)

What's new

• We released the updated version of ATC (07-Sep-2021 version with 2022 additions). New concepts were added and hierarchical relationships were improved. We will soon publish a more detailed article about the ATC work.
• New ICDO Topography-Histology combinations were added. All metastatic ICDO Conditions are mapped to the Cancer Modifier vocabulary now. Going forward this will be the common practice of metastatic cancer mapping. SNOMED secondary malignant neoplasm concepts will be made non-standard in the next SNOMED release.
• Cancer Modifier Metastasis concept class was cleaned up, some redundant codes were de-standardized.
• OMOP Extension: we added the EORTC Quality of Life Questionnaire С30 and the EuroQol five dimension three level scale to the OMOP Extension vocabulary as well as some specific Immunoglobulin lab tests and Meas values.
• ISBT has received its regular update with 28-Sep-2021 version.
• NDC has received its regular update with 03-Oct-2021 version.

• We have updated (v 9.2) and replaced the existing vocabulary "PHDSC" (Payer Typology) by its proper name SOPT while leaving all existing concept IDs intact. Please review your ETL logic if you have referenced to this vocabulary_id and replace this reference accordingly with "SOPT".
• The most recent NDC/SPL content has been used and we have fixed a couple of missing NDC to RxNorm relationships from a previous RxNorm update.
• One additional clinical test was added to the OMOP extension vocabulary.

What's new

• Gemscript vocabulary: a bug in the v20210713 release has been fixed. What was wrong, but has been fixed now: (i) the actual update to Feb 2021 version didn't happen, so all the new concepts were missing; (ii) all Gemscript concepts were deprecated by mistake. Mappings were not lost, but Devices that don't have mappings to SNOMED were deStandardized.
• Additionally, we made Devices missing in the current Gemscript source Standard. They're Standard and Valid concepts now, but with valid_end_date < '31-Dec-2099'. This approach was already used in ICD10PCS, ICD9Proc, HCPCS, CPT4 vocabularies in cases where invalidated concepts don't have any relevant replacement or mappings, but still persist in the source, and there might be a need to query them in studies.
• NDC/SPL regular weekly update.

What's new

• This vocabulary release is supposed to be a "major" one and might be used for a while in order to support a stable ETL process.
• Provider Domain fix: concept naming, hierarchy, and consistency were improved. Some of the concepts (including duplicative) were deStandardized and mapped over to their equivalents. A couple of new grouping concepts were added. Some concepts were moved between the Provider and Visit Domains.
• Visit Domain small fix: concept naming was improved, a new grouping concept was added.
• New Visit concepts for the Alternative care sites have been added.
• Genomic vocabularies reorganization has been done. Standard genomic concepts changed vocabularies from "HGNC" and "OMOP Extension" to "OMOP Genomic", concept codes were changed to OMOPXXXXXX. Concept classes "Gene", "Genomic Variant", "Transrcipt Variant" were replaced to "Genetic Variation", "DNA variant", "RNA Variant" accordingly. Hierarchy direction for standard genomic concepts were changed to (from ancestor to descendants): Genetic Variation -> DNA Variant -> RNA Variant -> Protein Variant. The naming convention was changed - "measurement of" statement was added to emphasize that these concepts are measurements that require values (positive, negative, etc.).
• Some scales, lab and clinical tests have been introduced into the "OMOP Extension" vocabulary.
• NDC/SPL regular weekly update.

Release notes v20210608

This guide can provide you more background on how to read the release notes.

What's new

• RxNorm vocabulary has been updated with its May 2021 release.
• "Multiple Ingredients" (MINs) concept entries have been added to the RxNorm vocabulary and the respective concept class introduced. MINs are non-Standard concepts and do not participate in the hierarchy. They are mapped over to the respective Ingredients by "Maps to" relationships.
• The LOINC vocabulary has been updated with its 2.69 Dec 2020 version (main source) as well as the May 20 2021 prelease data. (prerelease source).
• LOINC COVID-related lab tests are rolled up to the respective parent concept of the "Measurement of Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)" hierarchy.
• Deprecated LOINC concepts (not replaced by LOINC with new concepts) are mapped over to the respective Standard concepts in SNOMED and other vocabularies.
• ISBT vocabulary has been updated with its 7.51.1, May 2021 version.
