OmsiLaunch 0.1.0-beta4

Beta 4 replaces the one-hash compatibility rule with per-capability compatibility, adds Runtime Modules and session profiles 1..99, and brings a set of start and runtime features. Compatibility, the capability catalog, pagination, typed errors and the modules bridge were observed in live OMSI sessions (validation rounds A and B). The features added after those rounds are experimental: closed by static analysis and tested offline only, with runtime validation pending. See docs/status/runtime-validation-status.md for the evidence of each row.

Highlights

• Per-capability compatibility. Any installed OMSI 2 is accepted; each native capability is resolved and verified in process, and one that cannot be verified is unavailable on that build only.
• One capability catalog feeds the API, the plugin, the CLI help, diagnostics and the generated documentation.
• Runtime Modules. Manifest, integrity, lifecycle and failure policies, native hook registry, module ABI, session programs that start before OMSI, settings, plugin conflicts and tray notices.
• Session profiles 1..99 with discovery and a modules block, and session HOF management inside the configuration transaction (restored exactly).
• Uniform pagination of runtime lists, a telemetry event ring and typed errors end to end.
• Documentation updated in 14 locales; root documents moved under docs/.

New, experimental (runtime validation pending)

• Start: date/time/year, weather (preset, ICAO, real current), /last, entrypoint by exact label, keyboard and controller document overlays, cooperative shutdown (off by default), plugin and native traces.
• Runtime: weather set, weather metar set, scripts string set, scripts trigger, scripts sound-trigger, timetable no-rv-numbers list, map tiles list, stronger object handles.

Not available

Player vehicle at start, calendar writes and vehicle relocation. Steam LAA remains PARTIAL (not validated on a genuine Steam installation). See docs/reference/known-limitations.md.

The license remains LGPL-3.0-only.

OmsiLaunch 0.1.0-beta3

Beta 3 is the post-hardening baseline of OmsiLaunch. It keeps the single supported OMSI build (profile Omsi23004_692EBFBF) and adds integrity, recovery and control-plane hardening, Session Profiles, a Windows host and tray indicator, and a complete rewrite of the documentation in 15 languages. Most features are RUNTIME_VALIDATED in live OMSI sessions; see docs/status/runtime-validation-status.md.

• Session Profiles with strict compilation, conflict detection and path confinement.
• OmsiLaunchW.exe Windows-subsystem host and /silent delegation.
• Windows tray indicator and explicit recovery API.
• Manifest-based integrity for the permanent plugin closure.
• Re-hash and re-planning at start, local control plane and public capability registry.
• Offline validation, localization tooling and 14 translated documentation locales.

Fixed

• BUG-01 through BUG-08 covering stale plans, control-plane responses, silent launch, tray lifecycle, bounded lists, Windows host failures, CLI routes and offline documentation paths.

Known limitations

v0.1.0-beta.2 - Session Lifecycle and Package Layout Adjustments

Highlights

• Normal sessions remain owned until natural OMSI exit or explicit session stop.
• Timed validation is opt-in and separate from normal session ownership.
• Every normal launch exposes the local control plane.
• Release packages no longer include debug/runtime fallback paths.
• Permanent OMSI plugin files are installed under plugins/.
• Session state, splash assets, and diagnostics are kept under .omsilaunch/.

First Beta Release

Highlights

• Programmable LaunchSpec, PlanSession, session lifecycle, and reference CLI are available for the supported OMSI build profile.
• Permanent product plugin files are installed under plugins\OmsiLaunch.*.
• Temporary configuration and managed splash changes are journaled and restored byte-for-byte.
• PTB, ENG, DEU, and FRA managed splash assets are included.
• The release package includes a portable Grundorf session example and a small offline user guide.

Compatibility

This beta supports Omsi23004_692EBFBF only. Unknown or unprofiled OMSI executables are rejected. Consult the capability catalog and known limitations before depending on experimental runtime controls.
