It's worth noting that veteran aircraft will have issues landing on afld/fix because of increased movement speed. They'll simply take off again after appearing to have landed.

The issue was is plane attempting to call Rearm or Repair, but the plane's altitude would be >0, not 0. Usually 1. We should try landing these planes a bit sooner.

This applies to helicopters, too. If the speed is much higher than rotation they will get stuck vibrating/flickering (fast switch between to frames). CnC's orcas and D2k's carryalls are effected.

Let's slow all planes down to a sensible approach speed. This will work around the problem and look better while landing.

While the idea of slowing down units is appealing as a solution, and probably wouldn't harm gameplay too much, it doesn't work for Classic-RA and Classic-CNC, which are committed to recreating original values as close as possible.
I also kind of like the speed of Orcas as it is, speaking for myself.

Only the approach speed would be throttled.

Approach speed was throttled IIRC in RA, and probably TD too (although hardcoded). So this wouldn't effect the Classic Projects. It would actually benefit them.

Fixed in the recent aircraft overhaul.
Feel free to file a feature request for speed throttling on approach.
