Adding to timeline does not show in video preview at first

If i add something like an emoji to the project files and then right click the emoji and add it to the timeline it does not show up in the video preview at first.
I have to drag the clip or playhead og play the preview to get the emoji to show in the video preview.

With the emoji not visible in the video priview i can get it to show in the video preview if i drag the resize handle between the docks or maximize the window.

If i drag the emoji from the project files to the timeline i can see it in the video preview instantly.

It could be something with my graphics card driver since i have other problems like this in other software.
