This repository holds a setup for developing and testings wordpress plugins

About this template

This template provides a containerized wordpress cli instance extend with the power of PHPunit to test al your code and make sure you provide the most beutifull and stable plugins.

Using this template to build a wordpress plugin

You can setup your first plugin by creating a

$ wp scaffold plugin unit-test-plugin

Local development

Requires

  • GIT
  • Docker

Git clone your repository CMD navigate to your repository root run

$ docker-compose up

If you want to active your plugin form the commandline you can use

$ wp plugin activate {your-plugin-name} --allow-root

Testing your code

This repository does an automatic codecheck whenever you push your code to github, and only releases a new version of your plugin afther all teh checks turn out to be succesfull.

You can however also check your code manually while your are building it. In order to do this run the command below and change {test_file} with the location of the testfile within your plugin e.g.

$ ./vendor/bin/phpunit /wp-content/plugins/{plugin_name}/tests.php
