What's new in 1.5: play in every language

Beyond Oasis came out in five languages, each on its own cartridge (sold as The Story of Thor outside North America). All of them now build into the same game, with every enhancement working in each:

• Language setting, in the launcher's Game tab and the pause menu's More tab. In the pause menu it restarts in that version from its title screen (unsaved progress is lost).
• Setup takes several ROMs: pick or drop one from each country you own, and each is listed with its language. You no longer need the USA cartridge: any one version is enough.
• Each version keeps its own saves, save states and caches, so a save from one never loads into another. Your existing saves stay as they are.
• European versions run as on a European console: 50 frames a second, the taller 240-line picture and the PAL sound clocks. Widescreen, the HD effects, water and smooth motion all work there too.
• The launcher's case shows each version's own title, for example La Légende de Thor.

Also in this release, from 1.3.1 and 1.4: the water effect only on real water, the rushing wave filling the corridor in widescreen, and the redesigned launcher and pause menu.

Updating: run the new Setup over your install. It keeps your settings, saves and save states, and offers the ROMs it was built from; press Add to include more countries.

1. Setup asks where to install (your user's Programs folder by default; no administrator rights needed).
2. Pick your own ROM: Beyond Oasis (USA), or The Story of Thor from Europe, France, Germany, Spain or Japan (.md, .bin or .gen, or a .zip with one inside). Pick several to switch between their languages in the game. Each is checked as you pick it.
3. Setup downloads the build tools it needs (Node.js, CMake, Ninja and LLVM-MinGW, about 260 MB, from their publishers, checked against pinned SHA-256s) into the install folder, builds the game from your ROMs (a few minutes), and adds Beyond Oasis to the Start menu.

To update later, run the new Setup: it keeps your settings, saves and save states. To remove the game, use Settings > Apps > Beyond Oasis Recomp > Uninstall.
