A big update since 3.4: share styles across pages, style children freely, and get much more control over transitions.

Highlights in 4.3

  • Public classes: mark a main class as public and its styles are saved in a shared css/main.css, linked before the page's own styles. Each page chooses whether to import it, so one class can style many pages without conflicts.
  • Style a child: style the children of an element straight from its inspector, with no condition or while the element is in a state (:hover, .open and more). Pick children by position, HTML tag, class or pattern (:nth-child, :first-child...), anywhere inside or direct children only. Tap a target to switch between the two.
  • Free transitions and animations: a cubic-bezier editor with a live curve preview, 25 ready-made curves, steps(), and 47 animatable properties.
  • Safe area values: padding, margin and inset can use env(safe-area-inset-*) with a fallback value.
  • Dark / light preview: a new button next to the phone / desktop toggle simulates prefers-color-scheme in the live preview.

Also new

  • The element ID field is empty by default and is written to HTML only when you set it.
  • A class can be empty, and the Classes dialog no longer traps you.
  • Smoother element tree on long pages.
  • Interface texts, colors and icons now live in Android resources, ready for translations.

What's included

  • Element tree with add, nest, fold and drag-and-drop, plus 80+ HTML elements with nesting rules
  • 160+ CSS properties through visual editors, with !important on every property
  • Editors for transforms, filters, shadows, transitions, animations, borders, fonts, backgrounds, grids and positioning
  • Class-based styling: elements sharing a class share its style, or share it across pages when public
  • Class states, extra classes (.main.open) and screens (@media)
  • Project variables (colors, sizes, fonts, shadows, gradients, transitions) written to :root on every page
  • Live preview with phone / desktop and dark / light toggles
  • Page Head editor (title, charset, viewport, meta tags) and per-page CSS libraries with link checking
  • Image manager through the system photo picker, no storage permission
  • Export the whole project as a ZIP

Install

  1. Download Better-HTML_4.3-alpha.apk below.
  2. Open it on your phone.

The first public release of Better HTML: a visual website builder for Android. Build pages, style them and preview them live, with no code editing. What you build is real HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Highlights in 3.4

  • Screens (@media): make a page responsive with conditions on width, height, orientation and color scheme. Each screen holds only the properties that change for a class.
  • Extra Class: style toggled classes like .open, written as combined selectors (.main.open) so they can be switched from JavaScript.
  • One Styles panel: Root, Global and Screens together in a single panel, opened from the tree drawer.

  • Class-based styling: elements sharing a class share its style
  • Class states: hover, focus, active, nth-child and more
  • Project variables (colors, sizes, fonts, shadows, gradients, transitions) written to :root on every page
  • Live preview with phone / desktop toggle
