macOS 27 Helper Installation Fix — Unofficial Test Build

What this build contains

This build contains a fix for a macOS helper installation issue.

On affected systems, installing the privileged LaunchDaemon could fail with:

Bootstrap failed: 5: Input/output error

The underlying issue was a com.apple.quarantine extended attribute on the LaunchDaemon plist.

The fix removes the quarantine attribute from the installed plist before registering the service with launchctl.

Testing

Tested on:

• Apple Silicon
• macOS 27

The helper was successfully installed and verified using:

sudo launchctl print system/com.tetherkit.helper

The TetherKit application was also successfully launched and tested from the packaged .app.

Important

This is not an official TetherKit release.

It is provided as an unofficial contributor/test build while the fix is submitted to the upstream project.
