VAP v0.3-Stable — Vetro Android Player
Matte black folders by default, a tidier Settings sheet, and sorting cards in the Vetro style.
What's new
- Colored folders switch in Settings. Off by default: folders are matte black. Turn it on to get the colored folders back.
- AI models in one card. All speech recognition and translation models are collapsed into a single card that expands into the list on tap.
- Settings without a header plate. The Close button floats while you scroll.
- Sort cards with an icon, a hint, and the current direction, as in Vetro Collection.
- Fix: the English language option no longer loses its last letter.

VAP v0.2-Stable — Vetro Android Player
VAP v0.2-Stable — Vetro Android Player
VAP now updates itself, minimizes into a floating mini player, and has a lighter, calmer library.
What's new
- In-app updates. VAP finds new releases on GitHub, downloads them over several parallel connections, checks the file size, SHA-256, and signing key, and opens the system installer.
- Mini player. The arrow in the player minimizes it into a small draggable window over the library. Playback keeps going; tap to expand.
- Speed ruler. 0.5×–3.0× in 0.05× steps, with 0.8×, 1×, 1.25×, 1.5×, and 2× presets.
- Orientation by video. Vertical videos open in portrait, everything else in landscape.
- Flat colored folders instead of frosted glass: lighter on the GPU, nicer to scroll. Folders open and close, with the sheets flying in and out, in grid, list, and tree modes.
- Animated grid ↔ list switching and spring selectors for filters, language, and theme.
- Smarter search:
911and9.1.1find9-1-1. - Pull to refresh on the library and inside a folder.
- Settings: language, theme, update check, and AI model downloads.
- Fix: Back from the player no longer closes the whole app.

Requires Android 8.0+. Both APKs use the same release signing key and include arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86. Package ID: com.phnem.vap. Version: v0.1-Stable. Version code: 2. The variants replace each other; updating an installation signed with the same key preserves app data.
Validation
Both release APKs were built with R8 and resource shrinking. All 147 JVM tests passed for each variant, for 294 successful test executions. Android lint reported 0 errors: FOSS had 77 warnings and 1 hint; Cast had 78 warnings and 1 hint.
Checks covered APK signatures, version metadata, all four ABIs, Cast SDK inclusion only in the cast variant, APK packaging alignment, and 16 KB ELF segment alignment for 64-bit libraries. Instrumentation tests were not rerun on a device for this publication; reports from earlier development stages are in docs/.
Codec and TV receiver compatibility depend on the device. Universal transcoding and streaming live subtitles are not implemented. See the README for other limitations and instructions.
VAP's own code is MIT licensed. Dependency licenses are preserved separately.
