• SQLite 3.54.0, up from 3.53.4 (release notes). Behavior changes:
  • ALTER TABLE can no longer add, drop, or rename columns named ROWID, _ROWID_, or OID, or rename a column to those names. WITHOUT ROWID tables are exempt.
  • setAuthorizer() callbacks now see SQLITE_FUNCTION for functions in a column's DEFAULT clause, when the column is declared and when a statement reads it or inserts its default. An authorizer that denies the function now makes those statements throw.
• Node.js: synced to v26.x-staging@7615781. The node:sqlite sources are unchanged and match v26.11.1.

Fixed

• deserialize() crash: querying an eponymous virtual table (json_each, dbstat, pragma_*, or a createModule() table) before and after deserialize() crashed the process. Fixed in SQLite 3.54.0.
• Class names as types: Database, Statement, DatabaseSync, and StatementSync are now types as well as values, so const stmt: Statement = db.prepare(...) compiles as it does with node:sqlite.
• build:native:linux (developer tooling): no longer copies the container's build/ to the host, which broke the next npm run build:native.
