Bug Fixes

YAML Syntax Errors Resolved

Fixed persistent YAML syntax errors in security workflows:

  • Line 113 in dependabot-auto-merge.yml: Removed heredoc, using plain multi-line string
  • Line 142 in security-updates.yml: Removed heredoc from PR body, using variable interpolation
  • Simplified all gh release create commands to use plain multi-line strings

Root Cause

The issue was using heredoc syntax (cat <<'EOF') which conflicted with GitHub Actions template variables (${{ ... }}) and command substitution ($(cat file)). Changed to simple quoted multi-line strings.

Impact

  • All workflows now validate correctly
  • Security automation will function properly
  • No more YAML parsing errors
