Release list
v2026.10.25.3
Changed
- The landing page and FAQ size the Mac beta download at about 110 MB, not about 360 MB. The home panel download line and the FAQ's system-requirements answer now say about 110 MB in the English source and all ten locales; the locale QA reports were re-recorded to match.
v2026.10.25.1
Changed
- The Mac beta download points at the v2026.10.24.2-macos-beta pre-release. lmwarden.com/download/mac (and /download/mac.sha256), the README, INSTALL.md and llms.txt now target the v2026.10.24.2-macos-beta DMG: about 110 MB instead of about 360 MB. The beta is still ad-hoc signed and not notarized.
v2026.10.24.2
Changed
- The Mac app is smaller on disk. The build now strips about 125 MB of dead weight from the embedded Python before packaging (Tcl/Tk, IDLE, 2to3 and other unused stdlib tooling, the numpy and pyobjc test suites, and transformers model code that cannot run without PyTorch), and every build fails closed if the import check finds a module the server needs missing.
- The Mac DMG is 70% smaller. It is now LZMA-compressed (ULMO), and the embedded Python is trimmed: 110.5 MB instead of 373.1 MB. The installed app is about 526 MiB, down from 653 MiB.
- The Mac beta docs explain the Keychain password prompt. A beta is ad-hoc signed, so each build is a new signing identity to the login Keychain, and macOS asks for the login password to let LM Warden read its sign-in secret (the item
com.podwarden.lmwarden) — on the beta, observed at every launch. README and INSTALL.md now say this, and INSTALL.md now states that lmwarden.com/download/mac downloads the current beta DMG directly instead of redirecting to the GitHub releases page.
Fixed
- The model page names the Mac engine MLX. A model served by MLX showed its engine as "mlx"; it now reads "MLX", like the Stats page.
LM Warden for Mac v2026.10.24.2 (beta)
Beta. A test build of the LM Warden Mac app at release v2026.10.24.2, for Apple silicon Macs on macOS 14 or later.
This build is not signed with an Apple Developer ID and not notarized by Apple: it is ad-hoc signed only. It does not update itself; a newer beta is a new download from the releases page.
Check the download (both files in one folder):
shasum -a 256 -c LM-Warden-v2026.10.24.2-beta.dmg.sha256
Opening it the first time. macOS marks a downloaded app as quarantined and refuses to open one that Apple has not notarized, so after copying LM Warden to Applications, do one of these:
- In Finder, right-click (or Control-click) LM Warden in Applications, choose Open, then Open again in the dialog. On macOS 15 and later there may be no Open button: open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway next to LM Warden.
- Or, in Terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/LM Warden.app"
Either step tells macOS you trust this copy, so it skips the check Apple would otherwise make. Do it only for a DMG you downloaded from this page whose checksum matched.
v2026.10.23.1
Added
- A menu for selected chat text. Select text in a reply and, after a moment, a small menu offers Copy, Quote, Explain, Ask… and More (Simplify, Make shorter, Translate, Give an example, Branch from here). Quotes collect as chips above the message box and link back to where they came from. Each reply also has a Quote button and each code block an Ask button. Alt+Enter (Option+Return on a Mac) opens the menu from the keyboard, and on phones the actions sit above the message box. Settings has a "Text selection" section to turn the menu off, change its delay, and choose whether Explain sends straight away or fills the message box. (chat-ui 0.1.25)
Fixed
- Code blocks in a reply that is still streaming can now be expanded and collapsed, and no longer flicker in height as lines arrive. (chat-ui 0.1.25)
v2026.10.21.9
Added
- An "API reference" link in the website footer, on every page and in every language. It opens documents/API.md, which covers both the APIs your apps call (OpenAI-compatible
/v1, the Anthropic Messages API, the OpenAI Responses API) and the API that controls LM Warden itself (first run, models, keys, admin). scripts/landing_i18n_qa.py record --incremental: a QA record keeps the segments whose English and translation are unchanged, so a new or edited segment needs only its own blind back-translation.
v2026.10.21.8
Changed
- Final translation QA pass for all ten languages, and QA is now required. A last blind back-translation of every rewritten segment found the remaining rough spots (a few cryptic sentences, UI-panel captions, quoted UI strings), now fixed. Every language has a recorded QA report (
app/landing/i18n/qa/<loc>/) with zero critical and zero major issues, and the landing tests fail if a published language lacks a passing, current report.
v2026.10.21.7
Added
- Every page of the website in all eleven languages. Not only the home page: the coding-agent pages, each client's page, the FAQ, features, GPU monitoring, cache-aware routing, agent tuning, API keys and privacy now exist under
/fr/,/de/,/es/,/pt-BR/,/ru/,/uk/,/pl/,/zh-CN/,/ja/and/hi/. The language switcher keeps you on the same page, links inside a translated page stay in that language, and a visitor who chose a language and opens an English page link directly is taken to the same page in their language. Commands, config snippets and code stay as they are. - Translation quality control. Every language went through a blind back-translation by a separate model, a monolingual native-editor review, a bilingual meaning check and a fix pass (Russian twice), with calques, mistranslations and inconsistent terms rewritten and units and formats following each language's Microsoft style guide.
scripts/landing_i18n_qa.pyand the "Translation QA" section of the i18n README make the process repeatable.
v2026.10.21.6
Changed
- The home page's install chooser loses its explanatory lede; the question "Where will you run it?" and the four platform options speak for themselves.
- The home page's upgrade note no longer mentions the old name; the rename note stays in OPERATING.md for upgraders.
v2026.10.21.5
See CHANGELOG.md for the changes in this release.
