Azure Dreams HD Recompiled v0.9.1 (public beta)
A native Windows port of Azure Dreams (PlayStation, USA, SLUS-00614), built with the psxrecomp static recompilation framework.
Public beta. Tested for many hours without problems, but not yet played to the end on this build. If you finish it, or hit a bug, please open an issue.
This download contains no game data. You need your own disc image of Azure Dreams (USA): the .cue with its .bin next to it.
What's new in 0.9.1
- Fixed a map bug in widescreen (HD mode). After a prompt such as the elevator's, the tower map could go off-centre with its left side cut off, often hiding your own marker, until you took a step. The map now stays in place, and its window is a little bigger so larger floors fit.
- Saves made with 0.9.0 in HD mode carry the off-centre map position. It's corrected automatically the next time you play in HD mode and save. Your progress is not affected.
How to play
- Unzip anywhere.
- Double-click one of the launchers:
- Play Azure Dreams (HD).bat: widescreen, 4x resolution, perspective-correct textures, smoothed movies, fast loading, and a faster CPU that removes the original slowdown on busy tower floors.
- Play Azure Dreams (Original).bat: plays like the PlayStation. 4:3, native resolution, original loading and speed.
- Or
AzureDreams_Recompiled.exeto open the launcher and change settings and mods yourself.
- The first launch asks for your disc image and remembers it after that.
Both modes share your memory-card saves and controls. Each mode keeps its own settings.
Updating
Copy the new files over your folder. Keep saves\ (your saves), disc.cfg (your disc choice) and presets\ (your settings).
Notes
- No PlayStation BIOS file is needed; the bundled OpenBIOS is used.
- Old save states from earlier builds can't be loaded; memory-card saves are unaffected.
- If something goes wrong, the
diagnostics\folder next to the exe has the details to include in a bug report.
