I love data visualization, graphic design, visual communication of information, cheatsheets, etc.

I stumbled onto another Python 3 one last night that's not high enough quality unfortunately.

When I first started messing with tkinter, I found this site "Big Daddy's Toolbox" and it had a cool tkinter one.

I didn't have a good reference for f-string formatting, but it appears I do now since I found this just now on one of his sheets:

I created one script file to get all docstring for class and function in one python file. Work fine long time for programming reference. With it I can find how to call functions or use classes quickly. For PySimpleGUI.py, just load it and you will have reference table for PySimpleGUI immediately, and update easily. Maybe you can check it as in following link.

If possible, check from line #298 Event == 'Load File' to see why not working....
I'm checking any bug in the code.

There has to be something wrong with my environment or something else??

I'm on Win 10, running 3.6.

I tried loading the PySimpleGUI.py file version 4.19.0 that's just been released.

The window never changes. I'm able to keep clicking to load more stuff, but nothing happens when I load.

I've tried both load file and load path.

Can you add some prints or tell me where to add some?

I'm in Python 3.7.6, PySimpleGU 4.18.2 under WIN 10.

First, check Book.json after script end whether there're something or not.

{"": ["", [], "root", []]} means nothing

If yes, check function Load_Book whether somethong in self.treedata after while loop end or before self.tree.Update(values=self.treedata).

if not, check function Parse whether something in self.treedata after while loop end or before self.tree.Update(values=self.treedata).

print(self.treedata) get result as following for if Load PySimplegui.py OK.

The text color is white. Do you have a modified default theme? For a long time the default theme has white text.

This also points out that it's time for the PEP8 bindings to be the TRUE name of the function instead of the alias. Otherwise your tool shows only the non-PEP8 methods. It doesn't show the alias.

I will add a new enhancement to make changes to all class methods and all functions -sigh-

I would like to turn your code into yet another demo Jason if it's OK with you!!

I still need to do something really good with your meter (REALLY good). It's one of the best PySimpleGUI programs that shows how PySimpleGUI can be extended to create "advanced widgets" almost like WxPython has.

This object browser is great, but it needs to be updated to use the newer coding conventions. FindElement hasn't been used in about a year. All of the methods should be snake_case not the old CamelCase version. Maybe if I do the enhancement I just opened to swap around the definition of the alias it'll be easier for you and others to no longer use the old style?

I'm very aware of how badly the internals of PySimpleGUI are in terms of the PEP8 compliance and coding style, but I try hard to make sure ALL demos and samples I create strictly use PEP8 and the new coding conventions (e.g. window[key].update())

So I need to add text_color='black' in my Tree definition. I didn't set theme in this new script and the default text color is 'black', but set sg.theme('DarkPurple4') in old one the default text color is still 'black' in my environment.
Still not sure why it is different ? Anyway, I should set the text color to 'black' explicitly.

Know nothing about the relation between this issue with the Name definition in PEP8. I had been read PEP8, but as it said, "A Foolish Consistency is the Hobgoblin of Little Minds". I don't like it very much. Too many rules and too complex rules make it not acceptable by most of people.
