Forge development builds and mobile prototypes

Maintained by RAZEX0LOL, based on Mozilla Firefox. Mozilla's history,
copyright notices and licenses are retained. Not an official Mozilla release.

Desktop downloads

  • Windows x86_64 / ARM64: portable ZIP packages. Launch Forge.cmd, not the
embedded firefox.exe; the launcher chooses a separate Forge development profile.
  • Linux x86_64 / ARM64: portable tar.xz packages. Launch ./forge, not the
embedded firefox; the launcher chooses a separate Forge development profile.
  • macOS Intel: ad-hoc-signed development .app in a ZIP.
  • macOS Apple Silicon: the previously checked native-Russian development DMG.

These desktop packages reuse Mozilla's compiled Gecko through artifact builds;
they are not full independent C++/Rust Gecko rebuilds. New CI desktop packages
contain English upstream resources and Forge's ru/en UI. The Apple Silicon DMG
separately includes the checked built-in Russian locale and Hunspell dictionary.

Android — new prototype, not desktop feature parity

Choose one debug APK matching the device ABI: arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, or
x86_64. Uses pinned GeckoView 159.0.20261022150525, with native URL/search,
back/forward/reload and Russian/English strings. Unit tests, lint and two native
Gecko/UI tests ran on an x86_64 Android emulator; physical ARM phones are untested.
The debug signing identity is ephemeral, not a stable production publisher key.

iOS / iPadOS — new WebKit prototype

  • Forge-ios-simulator-prototype.zip: for iOS Simulator, not an iPhone IPA.
  • Forge-ios-device-unsigned.xcarchive.zip: compiled unsigned device archive
for developers. It still requires normal Apple provisioning and signing.

Uses system WebKit, not Gecko. Four native XCTest cases run in English and
Russian on Simulator, including local content loading. This does not validate
physical devices, App Store distribution, or alternate-engine eligibility.

Both mobile prototypes are initially single-tab and HTTPS-only. Downloads,
password management, extensions, sync, desktop workspaces and durable session
restoration are not implemented. No claim of a full mobile privacy audit is made.

Integrity and provenance

SHA256SUMS covers every download and MANIFEST.json. The manifest records each
asset's exact source commit, runtime, native architecture and validation origin.
Different build jobs have distinct source commits; do not assume the release tag
alone reproduces every prebuilt asset. See the recorded commits and CI runs.

Important limitations

Development software, not production-ready. No supported automatic security
update service.
macOS builds are not Developer ID signed or notarized; Windows
portable packages have no Forge publisher signature. Platforms may reject them.
Do not disable Gatekeeper, SmartScreen, Play Protect or signature checks.

Manual VoiceOver, long-duration signed-in usage, physical mobile devices and
packet-level traffic capture remain unverified. No user's profiles, credentials,
signing keys or local browsing data are included. Source and dependency license
notices remain applicable; Forge is a provisional name, not a Mozilla endorsement.

Forge development snapshot — macOS Apple Silicon

Development snapshot — macOS Apple Silicon only

This is Forge, a development fork of Mozilla Firefox maintained by RAZEX0LOL.
It is not an official Mozilla release and is not production-ready.

Download

  • Forge-development-20261028-macos-arm64.dmg — macOS arm64 / Apple Silicon only.
  • SHA256SUMS — checksums for the image and source metadata.
  • SOURCE.json — source commit, upstream/l10n pins and build limitations.

The app is ad-hoc signed, not Developer ID signed or notarized. macOS may block
it. Do not disable Gatekeeper, strip quarantine or weaken signature checks.
There is no supported automatic security-update service. Do not use this
snapshot as a secure replacement for an up-to-date browser.

This is a Mozilla artifact development build with Forge integration, not a
fully independent Gecko build. The complete Firefox fork history, Forge source
and upstream license notices are retained in this repository.

Checked locally

  • 285 browser integration checks and 123 source tests.
  • Ten additional restarts with 200 temporary tabs.
  • Eight in-process Gecko macOS accessibility-bridge checks (not manual VoiceOver).
  • Bundle signature, disk image integrity and public-source/package resource parity.
  • Limited HTTP/DNS/socket observations, not full packet capture.

GitHub's Forge source-check workflow also passed. These results do not validate
other platforms, long-duration authenticated workflows or system dialogs.

Not included

There are no Windows, Linux, Intel macOS, Android or iOS builds in this release.
Android and iOS require separate mobile implementation and testing. They are
planned platforms, not available apps. No placeholder or relabeled upstream
installers are provided.

Mozilla and third-party licenses remain applicable; the image includes the
generated upstream license notices. Forge is not endorsed by Mozilla.
