Pinball NS 2.9

Pinball NS now runs on Android, iPhone, Windows, macOS and Linux.

New

  • iPhone (experimental): the Android version's screen, controls, menu and settings; motion tilt with the accelerometer, Taptic Engine vibrations, gamepads and keyboards. Install the .ipa with your own Apple ID (AltStore, Sideloadly).
  • macOS (experimental, Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 10.15+) and Linux (x86-64): the Windows version's display, keys and gamepad mapping.
  • Handheld mode on computers (F3): the phones' screen with its touch keys, played with the mouse or a touch screen; F4 hides the keys.
  • Hidden controls on phones and in handheld mode (menu: CONTROLS): in a game, only MENU and START remain, and the screen under the game plays the flippers.
  • The original game runs in the double-speed mode of the Game Boy Color on the tables, as Pokémon Pinball Generations does, with its music and timings kept: no slowdown when much happens at once.
  • New flipper keys showing the game's own flipper, each one active on its own picture only; the tilt "T".
  • Motion tilt reacts to a light tap on a side of the phone.
  • Gamepads: more of them on Android (unknown gamepads by their numbered buttons), generic USB and Bluetooth gamepads on Windows, every gamepad the kernel knows on Linux, GameController gamepads on Apple devices; the display stays on during a game played with a gamepad.

Fixed

  • Pokémon Pinball Generations: the double-speed mode it switches to is now emulated (it ran in normal speed before); a line of the previous screen could show at the bottom and right edges.
  • The ABOUT pages leave an empty line between two subjects.

The ROM is not included: Pinball NS plays the ROM dumped from your own cartridge (US version), and Pokémon Pinball Generations 1.6 (its ROM, or its IPS patch on phones).
