Introduction

Treasure Hunter G is a JRPG that was released in 1996. It was never exported outside of Japan. A fan translation was done in 2002 and is the one still used today. The four main characters of the game were later used as main characters in Saga Frontier for the PS1, though with different roles. The game was released two weeks before Square announced that it would cease to develop games for Nintendo consoles. It would be another eight years before Square would develop for a Nintendo console again.

Road Map

The game can be done in a single play through but there are plenty of missable achievements along the way. Once you leave an island, you can't return to it, so you need to make sure you have everything you need before you leave. It'll be mostly obvious when you'll be leaving an island to go to the next.

A lot of the achievements are standard progression, and can't be missed, but they'll still be included in the road map below so you know what to expect and when. There isn't much in the way of guides on the internet, especially not for 100%, but I've made maps to help. All achievements should be listed in the order they can be first obtained.

Achievements

Just in the Nick of Time

Escape from the Aged Cave before it completely collapses.

Progression achievement.

Landscaper m Landscaper (m)

Clear the widow's garden of brush in Rouen Village and be rewarded.

Note: This needs to be done as soon as possible. A story event that takes place shortly after "Just in the Nick of Time" will lock this achievement.

Just left of the entrance to the village is a house with weeds all around it. Once you clear them out, the old lady will come outside and give you 200G as a reward. It can be done multiple times for various reward amounts and unique dialogue but is only necessary the first time.

Petty Thief m Petty Thief (m)

Steal a poor girl's allowance in Rouen Village.

Note: This needs to be done as soon as possible. A story event that takes place shortly after "Just in the Nick of Time" will lock this achievement.

In the house left of the widow's, with the child pacing back and forth, is a little girl. Check the dresser to her left to find 5G. When she asks for it back, tell her no.

Dojo Stormer m Dojo Stormer (m)

Defeat Tenzu in Rouen Village and learn his special technique.

Note: This needs to be done as soon as possible. A story event that takes place shortly after "Just in the Nick of Time" will lock this achievement.

In the dojo, go to the bottom floor and fight Tenzu. After winning the battle, he will teach you Teleport Trap.

Beach Comber m Beach Comber (m)

Find the biggest prize in the Rouen Village sand pit.

Note: This needs to be done as soon as possible. A story event that takes place shortly after "Just in the Nick of Time" will lock this achievement.

In the sand pit on the eastern side of town, there are 15 total spots that have varying amounts of money. 50G is the highest reward and can be found here.

Find all the items in Rouen Village outside the sandpit.

Oceania Scavenger

Find all the items in the Port Town of Oceania.

It's Raining Frogs, Hallelujah, It's Raining Frogs!

Set forth an abundance of frogs in Oceania.

Talk to the large frog statue, on the right, in front of the casino, for up to 10 free frogs.

Cliff Hanger

Scale the cliffs at Abonia Range without falling in less than 30 seconds.

Staying to the left side of the cliffs makes it a little easier since there's more outcrops to hide under. Hold Run the whole time, don't stop moving, and hope for good RNG.

Ready or Not, Here I Come! (m)

Beat the monk in a game of hide and seek in the Abonia Range monastery.

He's hiding on the floor with the save point. First time, he's hiding on the left and second time on the right in the same hallway. You should be able to see the top of his head poking out from the wall. You can't find him the second time until you're leaving the monastery.

Obtenebrated Spheroid

Obtain the Dark Globe.

Find all the hidden items in Abonia Range and the Monestary.

When You're Going Through Hel, Keep Going (m)

Defeat Hel's Drill Zombies, before damaging her, without any party members falling.

If any party member has dropped to critical HP (red) at any time, Rain will learn Heal. Use Rain to keep everyone alive and the fight should be easy.

Find all the items in Irato Forest, Herman's Forest, and Herman's Cave.

Agile Amphibian

Win a Heaven Ring in the Dodgeball game at a Grand Frog Casino.

Froggy Feast

Win a pair of Strange Boots in the Fly Catching game at a Grand Frog casino.

Brisk Bullfrog

Win a Poison Ring in the Froggy Race game at a Grand Frog casino.

If you need to buy frogs, buy them from a guy by the light house because he sells 5 for 100G. You can also find them for free in flowers/weeds in other towns.
The Froggy Race is just about learning the timing. Once you get the rhythm down, it's very easy to win.
Fly Catcher is RNG but you can apply some basic strategies. The start is the best time since they're all clumped together. When you tongue, move back and forth so you can catch flies with the side of your tongue as well.
Dodge Ball is easily the most frustrating. Try not to jump back and forth between the same two lanes. The game will recognize a pattern and will send dodge balls down those lanes more frequently.

Note: The achievements can be done at any casino at any time in the game.

High Roller Lilypad High Roller Lilipad

Gain access to the secret room in a Grand Frog casino.

The entry code to access the secret room is 3131. There's a casino in Oceania and Arkrass. The password is the same for both.

Neko Nabber

Find all the hidden items in Neko Forest and Neko Castle.

Defeat the Evil Bud without damaging it while another enemy is present.

The Evil Bud will occasionally spawn smaller monsters into the fight. Kill them before you begin attacking it again.

King Ribbit

Obtain the Great Frog from Neko Forest.

Brothers Vs Brothers m Brothers Versus Brothers (m)

During the battle with Hel Asteroth, Sinifie and Shinifian, do not damage Hel until both Sinifie and Shinifian are defeated with only Blue damaging Sinifie and only Red damaging Shinifian.

Sinifie is the red one. Shinifian is the blue one.
Both characters attack the opposing color of their names.

Cetacean Cruiser

Set foot on Carbuckle Island.

Steal from the item shop in the Port Town of Arkrass.

Grab all the items for sale in the item shop and punch the cracked wall to escape with your ill gotten goods.

Find all the items in the Port Town of Arkrass.

Rescue an ungrateful girl.

Found in Dahara Forest on the eastern side. Take the north path around to fight the werewolf and rescue her.

Receive a key from a friendly bird.

Obtain the Pyramid Eye.

Pyramid Climb Solution

Pyramid Scavenger (m)

Find all the items in and around the Pyramid.

Bloody Mary (m)

Defeat Lady Mary while both mummies are still alive.

You can use traps and items to stun the mummies to make the fight easier. Just don't kill either of them.

Crimson Duel m Crimson Duel (m)

During the battle in Ara Forest, defeat the werewolves before damaging J-Elf, then defeat J-Elf using only Red to deal damage to him.

Focusing down one at a time will make the fight easier to handle.

Aroshu Castle Scavenger Aroshu Scavenger (m)

Find all the items in Aroshu Castle and Ravi Town.

Help a deluded man in Akrass.

Give the deluded man in the south western part of Akrass a Delusion Ring. You can find one in Pyramid Town.

The Tortoise and the Monkey (m)

Defeat Leonardo in Muban Forest only damaging him with Ponga.

It's an easy fight. Rain can heal while Red and Blue can play scrabble or something.

Life Siphoner m Life Siphoner (m)

Have Rain learn Drain from Mio.

Escape the flooded house in north eastern Haama and win the battle afterwards.
