3.2 Quick Fix + Funny Lights

Choose a tag to compare

@Rhyperi Rhyperi released this 11 Feb 19:43

Quick little update to the previous release to clean up some transparency issues.
Fade was behaving improperly as well as added a "Shadow Fade" to allow for self-shadowing on semi-transparent objects still.

Also added my versions of the DPS system.

Refer to the upload notes for more detail on the update.

To note there are a few trial features in this release, mainly how many options the user has to deal with render queues.
As per my own testing so far things are mostly working, but please let me know if there are any issues you notice between the versions or in general.

Also you'll notice that a lot of shaders were trimmed off from previous releases.
Some of them are depreciated and not kept up anymore, others have become redundant with the changes in how the render queues are now handled. Finally some were moved into a WIP section that I plan to keep off to the side from now on.

Shader Pack v2.6 Update

Choose a tag to compare

@Rhyperi Rhyperi released this 06 Aug 06:58

Lighting upgrade, admittedly will darken models on the whole, but should allow for better reaction to baked, realtime, directional, point, and spot lights.
Basically better light reactions on the whole.

Shader Pack v2.6

@Rhyperi Rhyperi released this 27 Jan 00:36

VRC Big fix.
Something on the backend changed and altered a lot of how light color was determined, so I had to hammer together something that doesn't break.

-Shadow Masks work (sorta) again
-Matcaps in baked lighting will properly work
-Lighting in general is a slight shift to the darker
-Emissions redone, should be fine going forward but be aware older editor settings my have you light up like a Christmas tree.

Rhy Lit + MMD Shader v2.5

Choose a tag to compare

@Rhyperi Rhyperi released this 22 Dec 01:58

A small but powerful update this time.
Two major changes: Multi-variable emission and better Transparency

Multi-variable emissions allow you to toggle between two different code variables used for Emissions, this lets you animate them individually since Unity does "bulk" changes to all shaders on a mesh instead of by material.
So no you'll be able to keep your eyes one emission color and then the rest of the body changes based on animations.

The Transparency improvements are overall a lot of support for lighting, emission, and matcaps to be properly handled by transparent and semi-transparent materials.

Shader Pack v2.4

@Rhyperi Rhyperi released this 22 Aug 23:39

A clean up on the Detail Normals and some of the Shadow Mask code.
Should be all proper and ready now.

At this point there will be quite a bit of push to set up Avatar 3.0 features and tweaks.

Shader Pack v2.3

Choose a tag to compare

@Rhyperi Rhyperi released this 24 Apr 20:15

Hello everyone!

A general light and shadow themed update this time adding in 2 key features:

  • A minimum and maximum light intensity
  • A shadow mask to allow or ignore shadowing based on the mask

A couple of little tips and tricks:
-The matcap math was changed to be better, so it's a very good choice to apply the base texture as the additive sphere texture if you want an easy mask to prevent the matcap from being too shiny.
-The shadow mask needs to be reverse of what you assume. White = No Shadow, Black = Full Shadow.

Also, if you want to know where 2.1 went.
I have no idea.

Shader Pack v 2.0

@Rhyperi Rhyperi released this 13 Feb 04:52

Yay 2.0.
It does things for me that you'll probably never see or care about. But trust me, they're great.

I have touched up on a couple things:
-Cleaned out some older, obsolete versions
-Updated the Stealth shader for the first time in forever (still be careful, haven't testing it in-game)
-Updated Fader Shader with another variant to apply a normal map specifically to the 2nd matcap as well as functionality so that it doesn't overwrite itself.

Shader Pack v 1.82

Choose a tag to compare

@Rhyperi Rhyperi released this 09 Nov 23:40

New in this:

-Updated normal ramp calculation, should show up better overall.
-Some pass tweaks to possibly prevent more transparency hell.
-Adding in the "Fader" shader, allowing you to set up as well as blend between two matcaps, allowing you to smoothly transition between two different levels of shine on one material. Why? Well think about clothes that are wet in some section, but not in others. Those could have a bigger shine and then smoothly blend into the more matte shine of the clothes. Also still inherits colors from the mask & matcap, so you can also blend those colors together as well for some neat stuff.

Shader Pack v 1.8

@Rhyperi Rhyperi released this 01 Oct 23:04

Hello everyone!

A lot of cleanup and changes with this pack.

3 major changes now with this.
1: A bunch of fixes to the detail normals and the shader pack itself (no more unsupported shaders included).
2: Added a slider called specular bleed through that will let the shader "pierce through" shadows at a 0 to 1 scale.
3: Added version numbers. If it does have one in the editor, it's not the most up to date! Otherwise it should match this release number if I don't mess up updating it.

As always, feel free to let me know about errors, specific requests, and anything else.

(Amended update - Detail Normals fix, version should read 1.8b)
