What's new

Hidden files are skipped by default

  • New -a flag includes hidden files and folders: veyra -t image -r -a ~/Pictures.
  • The interactive menu has a new question after you choose images or videos: "Include hidden files and folders?" (default: No).
  • Hidden means names starting with . (like .git or .DS_Store), files macOS flags as hidden, and files with the Windows Hidden or System attribute.
  • Hidden folders are not entered at all, so recursive scans are faster and never read things like .git.
  • The folder you point veyra at is always scanned, even if its own name starts with a dot.

Behavior change: earlier versions scanned hidden files. Add -a (or answer "Yes" in the menu) to get the old behavior.

Fixes

  • Hard links to the same file are now detected on Linux and Windows. Before, they could be listed as separate duplicates.

Update

  • Homebrew: brew update && brew upgrade veyra
  • macOS / Linux: curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/RishiKendai/veyra/main/install.sh | sh
  • Windows (PowerShell): irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/RishiKendai/veyra/main/install.ps1 | iex

Check with veyra version.
