Dockwave v0.4.0-beta.2 (Linux preview)

Second Linux preview of Dockwave, a native PostgreSQL desktop client.
This is a prerelease preview, not a stable Linux release. The current stable
release remains v0.3.1 (macOS and Windows).

This preview adds a deterministic .tar.gz wrapper: the archive contains a
single executable AppImage entry with normalized metadata, so extracting it
preserves the executable bit without a manual step.

Supported platform

Supported claim is strictly limited to what was verified:

  • Distribution: Omarchy
  • Desktop session: Hyprland (Wayland)
  • Architecture: x86_64
  • glibc floor: glibc ≥ 2.35
  • Package formats: .tar.gz wrapper and raw AppImage (unsigned, under the
    project's no-spend distribution policy)

Everything else is untested. This preview makes no broader Linux support
claim.

Install and run

Recommended: the .tar.gz wrapper.

  1. Download Dockwave-0.4.0-beta.2-linux-x86_64.tar.gz.
  2. Extract it. In Nautilus, right-click the file and choose Extract; in a
    terminal, tar -xzf Dockwave-0.4.0-beta.2-linux-x86_64.tar.gz.
  3. Double-click the extracted AppImage.

The archive holds exactly one executable entry, so the extracted file is
already executable and lands directly in the chosen folder.

Alternative: the raw AppImage.

  1. Download Dockwave-0.4.0-beta.2-linux-x86_64.AppImage.
  2. chmod +x Dockwave-0.4.0-beta.2-linux-x86_64.AppImage
  3. Run ./Dockwave-0.4.0-beta.2-linux-x86_64.AppImage.

Use this if you prefer a single file or your download path already preserves
permissions.

Checksum (optional): each artifact has a .sha256 sidecar. Verify with
sha256sum -c <artifact>.sha256.

FUSE: running the AppImage requires FUSE 3. Without it, run the AppImage
with APPIMAGE_EXTRACT_AND_RUN=1, or pass --appimage-extract-and-run.

Known limitations

  • Tested on one distribution and one desktop session (Omarchy, Hyprland
Wayland). Every other distribution and desktop, including Ubuntu LTS GNOME,
Fedora KDE Plasma and native X11 sessions, is untested.
  • Wrapper extraction was tested only with Nautilus.
  • The AppImage is unsigned.
  • Requires glibc ≥ 2.35.
  • A crash cannot be triggered in a release build; crash.log writing is not
    exercised.

Licence and third-party notices

Dockwave is not open-source software; see LICENSE in the repository.
The AppImage embeds the AppImage runtime, which statically links LGPL-2.1
libfuse: its licence texts are inside the AppImage (RUNTIME_NOTICES.md) and
the corresponding source archives are published alongside this artifact
(fuse-3.15.0.tar.xz and the AppImage runtime source archive).
