Setup

• Roo Code version: 3.25.10 (c75549c)
• VS Code: 1.104.0-insider (user setup)
• OS: Windows 11 26100.4770
• Using VSCode Insiders on Windows Subsystem for Linux / WSL

Repro Steps:

1. Get Roo to use up to the auto-approved cost limit
2. Observe Roo prompting "Roo has reached the auto-approved cost limit of $10.00. Would you like to reset the cost and proceed with the task?"
3. Click "Reset and Continue"

💥 Outcome Summary

Expected outcome: Cost limit is reset and generation continues until cost limit has been hit again
Actual outcome: API request initiated, then shortly after asks again "Roo has reached the auto-approved cost limit of $10.00. Would you like to reset the cost and proceed with the task?". Clicking "Reset and Continue"

I'm here to help out the maintainers and am going to see if I can fix this issue! Looking into the cost limit reset functionality now.

Note - I am unclear if this is related, but the subsequent API request did fail. Here you can see the first instance where I was prompted to reset the limit (which I clicked) and was re-prompted again immediately afterwards.

I've successfully created a fix for this issue! 🎉

The problem was that the cost limit wasn't actually being reset when clicking "Reset and Continue" - it was still calculating the total cost from all messages in the conversation history.

The fix tracks the message index at the time of reset and only counts costs from messages after that point, ensuring the reset actually works as expected.
