Releases: RuiNelson/StreamExtract

Version 3.0.1

Choose a tag to compare

@RuiNelson RuiNelson released this 21 Oct 13:26
  • Updated the bundled libcurl with the latest FTPMC fixes.

Important

ftpsrv-streamextract 1.0.1 was released today. If you use it on your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 for FTP Mode B or FTPMC, update it: if the server crashes or is forcibly stopped during a resumed FTPMC upload, the partial file now stays a valid beginning of the file, so StreamExtract can resume it correctly. The payloads are now named ftpsrv-se-ps4.elf and ftpsrv-se-ps5.elf.
You can find the latest release here: https://github.com/RuiNelson/ftpsrv-streamextract/releases

Version 3.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@RuiNelson RuiNelson released this 13 Oct 20:06
  • FTPMC parallel transfers: distribute each file across multiple data connections on compatible passive FTP/FTPS servers (--ftp-mc and --ftp-mc-stripe in the CLI; FTPMC settings under Advanced in the GUI). Unsupported servers fall back to a single connection.
  • FTP block mode (MODE B): reuse one data connection across files on compatible FTP/FTPS servers (--mode-b in the CLI; Use block mode (MODE B) in the GUI). It is off by default, saved per server, and falls back to stream mode if refused.
  • Improved performance for small-file uploads, remote file and directory checks, staging publication, and PFSC image reads.
  • Fixed SELF file resumes on ftpsrv (PS4/PS5): remote sizes now use the stored file size, preventing incorrect skips or corrupted resumed uploads of files such as eboot.bin and .sprx.

Important

To take advantage of FTP Mode B and FTPMC, you'll need a server that supports it.
Currently very few servers support Mode B and FTPMC is even more niche.
One server that supports both and runs on arbitrary software-capable (aka jailbroken) PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 computers is ftpsrv-streamextract; you can find the latest release here: https://github.com/RuiNelson/ftpsrv-streamextract/releases

Version 2.7.0

Choose a tag to compare

@RuiNelson RuiNelson released this 08 Oct 18:11
  • Staging directory: upload and resume in a separate remote directory, and move the archive's files to the destination only after the whole archive succeeds (--staging in the CLI, Staging directory in the GUI). Existing partial uploads there are resumed, and Memory Save/Recall includes it.
  • Extraction root: upload only the contents of one folder inside an archive or volume image (--extraction-root; in the GUI, … → Select Extraction Root, browsing the archive's folders).
  • Per-archive queue controls in the GUI: each queued archive has its own password and extraction root, and can be moved up or down or removed from its … menu.
  • Multiple server memories: Memory Save, Recall and Clear now keep several server configurations, and you choose which one to overwrite, load or delete. Existing memory.ini and preferences.ini settings are migrated to YAML automatically.
  • Wrong passwords are caught earlier: for RAR archives with encrypted data and unencrypted headers, and 7z now warns when a password cannot be verified before the upload starts.
  • Truncated RAR archives are reported as such ("the file is truncated") instead of producing a shorter, apparently successful listing.
  • Fixed a tar archive named .zip being read as ZIP.
  • Fixed exFAT files whose names end in dots or spaces, or contain DEL, failing to open.
  • Fixed a ./ root directory entry being counted as not uploaded.
  • Fixed sizes such as "1.00 MiB" being shown as "1024 KiB".
  • The terminal interface now shows SFTP and the local user for SFTP connections.
  • On Linux, the GUI's sleep prevention now uses systemd-logind and releases the lock on exit.

@RuiNelson RuiNelson released this 04 Oct 11:58
  • Failed FTP connections and uploads now retry immediately, with three attempts by default. Configure the total number of attempts with --retries in the CLI or Upload attempts in the GUI.
  • Queue multiple archives in the GUI with shared settings, expandable progress for each archive, and individual results.
  • Faster uploads and lower memory use when transferring many small files, with improved handling of hidden remote files.

Version 2.3.1

@RuiNelson RuiNelson released this 02 Oct 11:41
  • The GUI now offers SI or binary units for sizes and speeds, and automatically remembers the selected units and buffer size between runs.
  • Overall transfer progress is also shown on the app icon, and the window requests attention when an upload finishes or an error occurs.
  • Optional sound when an upload completes successfully, with the preference saved automatically.
  • New “Show passwords” option to show or hide all password fields, including the archive password prompt, with the preference saved automatically.
  • Various GUI visual refinements.

Version 2.3.0

@RuiNelson RuiNelson released this 02 Oct 04:28
  • Windows crash fix: fixed an immediate crash when starting an upload with certain regional settings, affecting both the CLI and GUI (#5), thanks @0xDefton3s
  • exFAT volume images: upload files and directories directly from a raw exFAT volume image, in the app and on the command line, without mounting it or extracting files to disk. File names and modification times are preserved, and files already on the server are skipped on re-runs.
  • The app's buffer meter now changes gradually from red when empty, through yellow, to green when full.
  • macOS downloads are now ZIP files, signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

Version 2.2.0

@RuiNelson RuiNelson released this 01 Oct 17:40
  • 7z archives with a password: encrypted contents and encrypted file names (7z -mhe), in the app and on the command line. A wrong password is caught while reading the archive, before anything is sent, and the app asks again.
  • 7z archives are now read with 7-Zip's own code, and every common 7z compression method works with or without a password: LZMA, LZMA2, PPMd, BZip2, Deflate and Zstandard, with their filters.
  • Re-running an upload of a 7z archive that is not solid skips the files already on the server without decompressing them.
  • A 7z archive compressed with a method rarftp cannot decode (Deflate64) is reported while reading the archive, before anything is sent.
  • 7z file names are uploaded exactly as the archive stores them.
