Housing
This module generates households and housing units by structure type.

Households and housing units by structure type are provided directly by SANDAG's Estimates Program for the launch year. See Housing and Households. Post-launch year, the prior increment housing units are used to ensure that no housing units are destroyed within non-Mobile Home structure types. Mobile Home households and housing units are held constant unless otherwise optionally asserted by user-input controls.
See Annual Cycle. The total households, excluding constant Mobile Home households, for the post-launch increments are split into structure types using the launch year proportions unless otherwise optionally asserted by user-input controls.
An optional user defined CSV file containing control totals for Mobile home households and housing units, the proportions of non-Mobile Home households by structure type, and vacancy rates for non-Mobile Home structure types. If provided, the CSV should include one row per increment year, post-launch year. See the README.md for more information regarding the file structure and how to update the configuration file.
For the launch year, SANDAG's Estimates Program directly provides households and housing units by structure type. The Mobile Home households and housing units are held constant through the duration of the forecast, unless otherwise optionally asserted by user-input controls. The proportions of non-Mobile Home households by structure type are calculated along with vacancy rates and are applied in each increment year, post-launch year to the total households generated by the Annual Cycle. The prior increment year housing units by structure type for non-Mobile Home housing units are used to ensure that no housing units are lost from one increment to the next within each non-Mobile Home structure type.
