AV Overlay v2.5.3

AV Overlay 2.5.3 is the current release and the only one with downloads attached. It rolls up everything in the 2.5 series: install it over any earlier version (settings are kept).

What's Changed

2.5.3

• Audio (TV) row: the TV's raw replies are logged once per failing step, not once in total, so the HDMI fallback's reply on older webOS (the C1 on webOS 6) shows up at /logs. The HDMI audio line is read case-insensitively ("9ch" as well as "9Ch"), and MAT (how an Apple TV sends Atmos) shows as "Dolby MAT". Still unconfirmed on a C1. (#20)

2.5.2

• A muted receiver stays muted when you switch between Live TV and an HDMI input. The TV re-syncs its own (unmuted) state over eARC at each switch; the watcher now mutes the receiver again if that happens within 4 s of an input change. Confirmed on a TV. (#18)
• Release workflow: releases are titled "AV Overlay " consistently. (#17)

2.5.1

• The pinned bar no longer flickers on an HDMI input: its restore is held while a TV menu (quick menu, settings, input picker) or the home screen is up, and backs off if the bar keeps vanishing. (#16)
• Audio (TV) row: when the TV's audio call gives no pipelineId (older webOS), the HDMI service is asked by port alone; raw replies are logged once if nothing usable comes back. (#16)
• /setup can be driven with the TV remote: section headers are focusable, the arrow keys move between controls and OK toggles checkboxes. (#16)

2.5.0

• Audio (TV) row (optional, off by default): the audio the TV itself sees on its input, with or without a receiver. (#10)
• Choose and order the info bar rows on /status and /setup (on/off switch and drag handle per row). (#10)
• TV-only mode: with no receiver address the bar shows only what the TV, Plex and Jellyfin know; the installers skip the receiver on Enter. (#10)
• /logs page: live view, filter and download, with tokens and keys masked. (#11)
• Show on TV is remembered across a watcher or TV restart, and the last Apple TV app from Home Assistant survives a watcher restart. (#11)
• Row descriptions (i icon per row), Magic Remote friendly overlay, pinned bar restored after switching between Live TV and apps. (#11)
• /status.json sends a CORS header for the AV Overlay Settings app; review fixes to shell quoting, luna subscription restarts and failed-install detection. (#13)
