Animal Crossing (GameCube) as your live Windows desktop wallpaper: your own town, from your own save, running behind your desktop icons in real time.
Getting started
- Download ACGC-Desktop-v1.0.0.zip below and extract it.
- Put your Animal Crossing (USA) disc image (
.iso,.gcmor.ciso) in theromfolder. To use the town you already have, add your Dolphin save's.gcifiles to thesavefolder. - Double-click
Start Wallpaper.bat. Your town appears behind your icons after about 20 seconds.
Windows may show a SmartScreen warning the first time: click More info, then Run anyway.
What's in it
- Live wallpaper: a slow camera wanders your town and follows your PC's clock, seasons and weather.
- Hourly music: the town's music for the current hour (turn it up with the widget's volume slider; it starts silent).
- Desktop widget: the town clock in the in-game style, with camera controls, music volume, a weather on/off button and settings.
- Play anytime: Play (or Ctrl+Alt+P) turns the wallpaper into the game. Ctrl+Alt+W sends it back.
- Safe for your save: the wallpaper never writes to your save file. Save in-game before returning to the wallpaper.
See the README for every option.
