ESP32-S31 in a XIAO Form Factor?

I’m Ellie, Product Marketing Manager at Seeed Studio, covering the XIAO product line.

Recently, Espressif introduced the new ESP32-S31 SoC — a high-performance dual-core 32-bit RISC-V MCU running at up to 320 MHz. We’ve been taking a close look at the specs and evaluating how this new chip could fit into the XIAO ecosystem, and we’d love to hear the community’s perspective as well.

Are the ESP32-S31’s power-efficiency improvements compelling enough to justify a new XIAO variant, or do you feel the current ESP32-S3 lineup already hits the right balance of performance, features, and power consumption?

Most compelling for me is inclusion of the Thread/zigbee radio. If the power efficiency is better than the C6 this could be a better alternative for ntmekit/matter devices as well as opening up better development choices for HomeKit video options that the C6 can't match right now
