Snapir Design X 1.3.14 — Snapshot

Two things the survey had already measured and the app was throwing away, and
one place the drawing was a step behind the body.

Half a corner window

Daire 45 - Salon has a window that turns the corner of the room: glass on one
wall, round the corner, glass on the next. It came back with the glass on one
wall and solid masonry where the rest of it is.

The reason is how it is shot — three verticals, not two. One at each end, and
one standing on the corner itself, where the two panes meet. Pairing takes
jambs two at a time, so one of the three was always left over, and with it half
the window, which was never cut at all.

The middle one is a mullion, not an end. Left out of the pairing, the two outer
verticals find each other across the corner, and the cut follows the wall from
one to the other: 212 cm now, where the opening was 86 cm and stopped dead at
the corner.

The rule only fires where a vertical stands within 15 cm of a ring corner and
has a partner at the same height on each of the two walls that meet there. A
door that happens to start at a corner keeps both its sides. Across five
surveys and 44 rooms it changes exactly one.

Three boilers, three fronts, no backs

Daire 6 - Koridor has three boilers, each marked with two shots — one on the
front, one behind — which between them say how deep the thing is. Every one of
them came back with the front and no back.

Only a shot near the middle of a rectangle counted. That rule was added to
stop a stray at the top of a doorway being read as a 131 cm deep object, and it
did, but it also threw away one shot of every genuine pair, because nobody puts
the front and the back of a boiler both in the middle.

What separates them is not where on the rectangle the shot sits. It is that the
real ones are taken straight after the rectangle is closed — shoot the four
corners, then put the depth on it — and that nothing hung on a wall is 131 cm
deep. Both are now what is asked, and the middle rule is gone. All three pairs
read; the stray still does not, and neither do six other shots across the five
surveys that used to sneak in.

And with both shots the body now fills between them. It used to hollow the wall
back to the rear shot and then stand a thin box in the mouth — two half-answers
that left the boiler as a 3 cm plate with a 25 cm void behind it.

The ring applies itself

Every other edit in the sketch rebuilt the body on the spot. Redrawing the
outline did not: it waited for Apply, so the 3D was quietly one edit behind
for as long as you were working. It now goes in as you draw, once there are
three corners, with a short pause so a run of clicks costs one rebuild rather
than five. Apply is still there for when you would rather not wait.

Checked

Both cores agree across all five surveys: 248, 215, 395, 409 and 1725 fields,
zero mismatches. 88 tests, of which 84 run here — four need the private sample
set. 41 of 44 rooms build; the three that do not are a missing ceiling height
and two outlines that cross themselves, all unchanged from before.
