ShadowCode 2.3.1
ShadowCode is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. This release improves write-subagent guidance: write delegation requires a Git repository with an existing commit. Plain-folder tasks are directed to direct editing or read-only agents, with a prerequisite check before worktree preparation.
Windows download
- Download the Windows x64 installer
- Windows checksums
- Complete source for the bundled busybox-w32 shell
- Installation instructions
The per-user installer targets Windows 10 (1809+) and Windows 11 x64 and includes the Microsoft runtime DLLs, CPU local-model runtime and Windows sandbox shell. It does not require administrator rights. The installer is not code-signed, so Windows may show an unrecognized-app warning; verify the checksum before running it.
Installer SHA-256:
7a957342206b1413ecaf153f284880bc5df562971094c50b703096bbb26a3bba
Verified on the Windows laptop
The exact public installer passed installation through the official PowerShell installer, startup with development-tool directories removed from PATH, and native editor/settings checks. Saving, undo, Ctrl+Y and Ctrl+Shift+Z redo passed with no observed page errors.
Gemma 4 E4B Q4_0 on CPU completed a bounded Python repair task in 352.77 seconds. It executed the tests inside AppContainer, preserved all five original tests and passed the independent verifier. The machine was Windows 11 Home x64 with a Ryzen 3 5300U and 32 GB RAM. This is one fixture on one laptop, not a broad hardware or model-reliability benchmark.
Windows local inference is CPU-only. Windows 10, ARM, GPU and real cloud-provider accounts were not qualified on this hardware. External Git commands that open the Windows null device can still fail inside AppContainer; the sandbox was not weakened. See the Windows port notes and exact qualification record.
Other platforms and source
Apple silicon and Intel macOS disk images, x86-64 and ARM64 Linux AppImage/DEB packages, and both Flatpak bundles are attached below. All public platform downloads were checked against their published SHA-256 values and GitHub asset digests. Linux package signatures and signed APT indexes were verified separately.

Website source
The Windows download page is live at shadowcode.org, with all nine platform downloads checked. The website source package includes its configuration, lockfile, public assets and live-site verification receipts. Verify it with the website source checksum. Credentials and local build state are excluded.
