Highlights
- Glob and regex keys (#19, #20):
match = "glob"andmatch = "regex"let one rule cover a family of tokens, with captures available in the expansion. - Linux binaries that start on older distributions (#64): statically linked
linux-muslarchives start on Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 and anything else; thelinux-gnuarchives need glibc 2.39. The Homebrew tap now installs the musl build on Linux. - Debian packages (#65):
runex_0.1.21-1_amd64.debandrunex_0.1.21-1_arm64.debare attached, with aSHA256SUMSover every asset. - Buffers that used to break the hook now expand: a
"under clink and Windows PowerShell, a leading-or~, tabs, line separators and multi-line buffers (#18, #21, #22, #23, #35, #36, #50, #51). runex config reload(#30) regenerates the installed shell integration after config.toml is edited by hand, and a rule whose expansion is blank is skipped instead of erasing the token (#52).
Install
| Channel | Command |
|---|---|
| crates.io | cargo install runex |
| AUR | paru -S runex-bin |
| Homebrew tap | brew install shortarrow/runex/runex |
| winget | winget install ShortArrow.runex |
| Debian / Ubuntu | download the .deb below, then sudo apt install ./runex_0.1.21-1_amd64.deb |
(AUR / Homebrew / winget can lag the GitHub release by hours;
cargo install runex always picks up the new version immediately.)
Upgrade notes
- bash / zsh / pwsh / nu users: the integration cache under
~/.cache/runex/(%LOCALAPPDATA%\runex\on Windows) was written by
the previous version. Runrunex init <shell>once and open a fresh
shell. - clink users: run
runex init clinkand open a new cmd window.
runex doctorreports the lua file as outdated until you do. - Config:
matchis now a recognised[[abbr]]field. A rule that
already carried an unrelatedmatch = ...key, ignored until now,
fails to load unless the value is"glob"or"regex".
