SemaTor 1.1.585 — Golden Axe, R-Type and SemaOS polish
1.1.585 — Golden Axe, R-Type and a more polished SemaOS
- Golden Axe: GPU Smooth Motion follows scenery and actors with fractional horizontal and vertical movement. Expanded View adapts to the selected aspect ratio; the separate Expanded Play Area option allows movement in the wider scene. Original encounter gates and exits remain in place. Scrolling seams and level-edge judder are fixed, and the gamepad B button defaults to Magic while preserving custom bindings.
- R-Type: GPU Smooth Motion includes scenery, stars and objects. Choose extra scenery with the original combat area, or enable Expanded Play Area for wider movement and verified enemy/projectile boundaries. Ground-enemy entry, turning and removal now account for the wider view. Intentionally timed left-side arrivals and boss formations retain their original timing.
- R-Type sound and stability: Music and effects play together with independent volume controls, including when loading a mid-game save. Power-up-related ultrawide dropouts and distant scenery-cache failures are fixed. Stars extend into the additional view.
- SemaOS tools: Updated creative and utility apps include the sample editor, gallery, programming tools and debugging tools, alongside improvements to Paint, Explorer and the shared desktop.
- Session and Settings: Clearer text and contrast, reliable slider dragging, corrected directional-key navigation and performance-panel shortcuts. Steady menu redraws avoid repeated settings-file reads. Editor selections, tab scroll positions, file renaming and debugger step-over receive fixes.
- Android packaging: Runtime artwork and required licenses remain included; development/reference assets are excluded from the APK. Existing signing identity and user-folder compatibility are preserved.
Windows x64, Linux x86-64 and Linux ARM64 public builds include signed updates. Android remains a separate testing APK. Golden Axe and R-Type were checked using saved-game replays, original-renderer comparisons and bounded later-stage tests; this is not a complete campaign playthrough. GPU Smooth Motion does not change the original game speed or guarantee a fixed frame rate on every device. Golden Axe CPU boost remains a manual choice because it also changes gameplay speed.
Windows builds still need broader real-machine testing. The Android testing APK is distributed separately through Discord.
