@SlonickLab sorry for the ping but since the project hasn't had any commits recently I thought this would help to give a bit of visibility since I'm not familiar if I should have created an issue or a post here, if so I can correct later. Ty |

Hi, sorry I didn't see your message. I've been really busy at work lately, so I'll try to get back to work this week and respond to everyone's suggestions or bug reports (Thank you so much for using the script it's really nice😅) |

Hi, thanks for waiting, and for the detailed suggestions! All three are in v2.21.0: https://github.com/SlonickLab/Smart-Replay-Mover/releases The separator is now a setting under File Naming. It's For games that aren't in the database, turn on "Use the window title for unknown games" under Organization. The folder then gets the window title instead of something like And the list you asked for is in Custom Names now, it's called "Recently detected". Programs the script couldn't name by itself show up there, and when you pick one it fills in the Game field, so you only type the folder name and click Add. If the script settings are open while you play, press "Refresh list" to see the new ones. Thanks again, these were really good ideas! |

Hi, first thank you for developing the Smart Replay Mover!
I've used several clipping tools besides OBS and several scripts on OBS before this one and I gotta say it's been the most reliable script, I've been using it for months and differently from other scripts that have a delay to clip or won't reset the buffer, I think I didn't have this problem with this one for what I tested.
Based on what I used I have some suggestions around file naming and custom names that would help improving the organization and ease of use.
The first one is a minor thing, I already changed on my script personally but I thought of sharing this suggestion since someone else could face it which a configurable prefix separator between game name and filename (the one you configure on OBS so you can differentiate clips.
For now when you enable the game name prefix, the script separates the game name and the original OBS filename with a hard-coded " - ". Example: "CS2 - Replay %date%time.mp4".
The Problem is that when you migrate from other clipping tools or even other scripts like the ones I used before that used a simple space, underscore or another thing as a separator you end up with fragmented folder sorting considering they are placed in the same game folder correctly, where new clips are sorted on top of older clips for example, in my case I changed the concatenation process of the script to use a simple space as a separator making so it would match my old clips, but that required a bit of tinkering since using a blank space for separation caused the script to not clip for a while, but after some fixes it worked.
But to make it simple for new users migrating I think it would be good to add a configurable setting on file naming options to allow that to be changed and maybe defaulting to
-for backward compatibility, but allowing users to set custom delimiters like,_, or leave it blank. My other suggestion can be a bit tricky but it's about the name detection for now games not present in hard-coded database or custom mappings, the script seems to default to the process name which results in a bloated name like "Game-Win64-shipping", it seems the script already reads window titles for anti-cheat games, it would be nice to have a toggle to always try to use the window title for games that are not recognized before the executable name.
I know that there are games like "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" that have special characters/symbols that some OS don't allow to be used on folder names or files, but even if sanitized to strip special characters/symbols this would be a lot better than the executable names.
Adding on that adding a small log/database to every executable/game that was clipped so when you create a custom name for a game you can just select an already clipped executable that would be nice for making it easier to create the rule.
I would love to hear your thoughts on these ideas and I'll be happy to provide more details, help test changes and/or more if needed.
