Before you start
- Java Edition: turn on subtitles (Options › Accessibility › Show Subtitles).
- Bedrock Edition: install the Bite Caption pack, activate it in Settings › Global Resources and turn on captions.
- Hold a fishing rod, face the water, reel in your line, then press F8 in the game. Press F8 again to stop.
Known issues
- The installer is not code-signed yet. Windows SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC": choose More info › Run anyway.
- Microsoft Defender may block the installer as
Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml. This is a false positive from its machine-learning check for new, unsigned programs; it has been reported to Microsoft. - Two newer behaviors are not verified in game yet: the first cast after you return to Bedrock, and pausing while a game menu is open.

Minecraft Auto Fishing 0.1.0-alpha.2 (test build)
Test pre-release for Windows. This build is for testing; behavior may still change.
What's new since 0.1.0-alpha.1
- Bedrock Edition: clicks hold the mouse button briefly, so the game no longer misses them.
- Bedrock Edition: the first cast after you return to the game should no longer be missed (not verified in game yet).
- Settings and log files moved out of the install folder; uninstalling with "Delete the application data" now removes them. Your settings are carried over.
- The installer shows the app icon.
- If no bite subtitle shows up for several waits in a row, the app suggests what to check.
