Eight days of app, written down
The manual stopped at 2026-10-06 and the app did not. What it now says
that it did not:
Installing on Proxmox, a page of its own: the one command, what Default
settings makes, why the container is privileged and what to do if you
would rather it were not, the two pct lines that mount your collection,
where everything lives, updating, and taking it off again.
There is always an administrator. The old text said an install with no
password set was simply unlocked; it is not, it refuses to open at all
until somebody makes one. That changes the first run on both install
pages, the Home page, and the whole administrator section of Sharing
with others.
Who is listening was a dropdown you typed a name into. It is an account
you sign in to, and has been for a while.
A missing volume is a line now, not a card with a drawn cover, in both
halves of Series to complete. A book in no series says No Series rather
than saying nothing and reading as part of the series above it. The
Maintenance column shows only rows that have something in them.
Unabridged, which is the book's fact and not a listener's. The red dot
on the icon when a newer version is out, and what each kind of install
can do about it. Listening on a phone showing up on the desktop, and
the two things that are careful about. One Music Assistant provider is
one listener for everybody, which is how somebody else's Star Wars book
reached Frank's Continue listening. Converting carries on when you close
the page.
Every [[link]] and every #anchor in the manual checked to resolve.

The database keeps copies of itself
The books are on a share and survive almost anything; where everybody
is in them was in one file with no second copy anywhere, and the audio
cannot rebuild it. Settings reference says what is kept, where, how
many, and — the part worth writing down before it is needed — how to
put one back.

A series published in parts
The app has read Genre / Author / Series / Part / Book since 2.9.0 and
these pages still said it could not. That page is what somebody reads
before deciding how to file their collection, so it was the one thing
still telling them the shape was impossible.
How your folders are read gains a section: the part is the series,
what makes a folder of folders a part rather than a mistake, that it
is one extra level and no more, and the two things worth knowing —
Move… writes four folders, and a book's number belongs to its part.
Home and the layout lines elsewhere name the deeper shape. Browsing
says how parts appear in the genre column. Troubleshooting's "deeper
than the layout reads" row no longer describes a boxed set inside a
series as the example, since that is now read. Moving and deleting
says plainly that Move… can take a book out of a part and not put one
back. Metadata and tags says the number belongs to the part.

Missing volumes of your own are drawn as books
Series to complete no longer lists your own gaps in a table of columns; it
draws a series head and one card per missing volume, like the Wikidata half.

involved, what works and what does not yet, and where to look when it will not

A bar stands in the same colours as the page
The bar at the bottom fills from the glow on the left of the page into the glow
on the right, and those two turn over every night the way the drawn covers do —
so a bar still running at midnight turns with them.

The list of every series with a volume missing
Settings goes through the whole collection and names the series with a hole in
them, widest hole first, a row opening that series in the library. The same
counting as the line under a series head, so the same limits: no quota, no key,
and nothing said about a volume past the highest one owned. The series with no
volume numbers at all are named under the table, because an empty table would
otherwise read as good news when it might only mean nobody has numbered anything.

The player bar goes away when there is nothing to listen to
What puts it away, and what does not. A book that runs out takes it with it, and
the card then offers Play again rather than Resume. The new ✕ at the end of the
bar puts it away whenever the bottom of the screen is wanted back, with the place
written down first, so the book stays on Continue listening. Pausing does neither:
a book stopped for a moment is still the one being listened to, and the bar is the
way back into it.

A series says which volume you are missing
The line under a series head, in both places it appears — a series opened from
the column, and each series heading in an author's books — and what it may be
trusted to mean. It reads volume numbers, so it states the run it can see and
never calls a series finished: nothing here can know a book 6 exists, and the
Books API will not say either. Books with no number are counted and said,
because the gap may be one of them; a series nobody numbered says so; and the
count is over the whole series, so a shared one reads as whole from either
author's page.
With it, where a number actually comes from — tags, a volume in a folder name,
a lookup, or the field you type it in. A series folder gives none, which is the
case that gets the "no volume numbers" line.

Lead on what the app is for: tags in the files, converting, playing
The manual opened by describing a browser for folders, and buried the two
things that take real work behind that. Converting was section ten of the tag
page, twenty-one lines, which is where you put a footnote rather than a reason
to use the app.
Converting to MP3 is now a chapter of its own, and says what it is for: tags go
into MP3s only, so the books in other formats were the ones that could never be
finished, and this is how they join the rest. A chapter to a track, named and
numbered, what it came from kept until you say otherwise, the tools already in
the image, and every refusal it can give with what it means.
Metadata and tags now opens on why the files are the collection and the
database is a draft of them, and hands converting over to its own page. The
Home page leads on the three, and Browsing and listening gains the player that
follows you between the app's pages.
