SonoBook Player v0.2
Sonobook Player v0.2
This release focuses on playback progress tracking, persistent playlists, and a smoother library interaction model.
New features
- Listened-time progress tracking — the player now records how much of each item you've actually listened to and shows it persistently, backed by a local database (
db.js). - Persistent playlists — create and keep playlists across sessions (
playlists.js). - Running-time probing — track durations are probed and displayed for items, including audio inside zip archives.
- Next-item preload — the upcoming playback item is preloaded for gapless, faster transitions.
- Context menus — right-click actions in the library, including progress reset and cleanup.
- Refined click model — single-click selects, double-click plays, with distinct highlighting for the playing item versus the selected item.
Improvements
- Runtime files (database, playlists, settings) are now stored in the OS app-data directory instead of alongside the app.
- Version management: a single source of version truth synced across the app, with helper tooling (
version.js,tools/sync-version.js,tools/github-tag.js). - Refreshed app icons (macOS, Windows, Linux) and updated README/AGENTS docs.
Fixes
- Restored correct startup of the sandboxed preload script.
