HushTelegram v0.0.22 has 67 patches for the Google Play build of Telegram 13.1.1 (org.telegram.messenger, version code 72371) and telegram.org's Telegram 13.1.0 (org.telegram.messenger.web, version code 72299). It's built on Morphe patcher 2.1.0, so update Morphe Manager to 2.3.0 or newer before you patch. Most of this one came straight from your reports. There's a Ghost mode for read receipts and stories, a switch that blocks new channels and groups for a kid's phone, and Copy, Save to Downloads and Forward as copy for chats that don't allow saving. You can hide reactions and the reaction picker, unlock the Premium app icons, and pick an emoji status that only your phone sees. Full screen videos stay full screen when you turn the phone upright, and reactions to your messages notify you now on builds Google's push doesn't reach. Every new switch starts off.
New in this release
-
Add Repeat to the message menuhas one more switch,Add Forward as copy to the message menu, off by default. With it on, a message in a chat that doesn't allow forwarding gets a Forward as copy item. Pick a chat and the message's text, or its downloaded photo or file, goes there as a new message. Media you haven't downloaded yet asks you to open it first. (#46, #47) -
Add Repeat to the message menuhas another new switch,Add Save to Downloads to the message menu, off by default. With it on, a photo, video, file or song you've already downloaded from a chat that doesn't allow saving gets a Save to Downloads item in its long-press menu. Tap it and the file is copied to Download/Telegram. Nothing is copied until you tap, even with the two automatic save switches off. (#29) -
Add Repeat to the message menuhas a new switch under it,Copy text from chats that don't allow saving, off by default. Turn it on and a message in a chat or channel that blocks saving gets a Copy item in its long-press menu, and you can select its text and copy it like anywhere else. Forwarding, screenshots and the rest of the restriction stay as they are. (#43) -
Disable double-tap reactionshas two new switches under it, both off by default.Hide reactions under messagesstops the row of reactions from being drawn under each message, andHide the reaction pickerremoves the row of reactions at the top of the long-press menu along with the panel it opens. Nothing stored is changed, so turning a switch off brings everything back. Tags in Saved Messages still show. (#48) -
Hide recommendationshas a new switch under it,Hide trending packs, off by default. Turn it on and the sticker keyboard loses its Trending tab and the trending row under your packs, and the emoji keyboard stops listing packs you haven't added. Search still finds new packs, and the Stickers and Emoji screen in Settings still shows Telegram's trending list. -
Hide Premium, gifts and Starshas a new switch under it,Hide emoji statuses, off by default. Turn it on and the emoji a Premium account puts next to its name is gone from chats, the chat list and profiles, so you see the plain Premium star instead. Your own status hides on your phone too, but everyone else still sees it. Picking a new status for a channel you run still saves. -
Hide Premium, gifts and Starsalso hasUnlock Premium app icons, off by default. With it on, Premium, Turbo and Nox in Telegram's App Icon list (Settings, Appearance) have no lock and switch your home screen icon like the others, instead of opening the Premium sheet. They show in the list even where Telegram sells no Premium. Only the icon on your phone changes. (#13, #14) -
Hide Premium, gifts and Starsalso hasEmoji status on this phone, off by default. With it on, the star next to Telegram at the top of the chat list opens the emoji status picker without Premium, and the emoji you pick, animated ones too, shows there on your phone. Nobody else sees it and nothing goes to Telegram. Picking no status puts the star back. (#14) -
HushTelegram icon and namehas anIcon styleoption in Morphe Manager. Besides the blue badge you can pickWhite on blackorBlack on white, which draw just the H and plane in one color. The plain styles need Android 8 or newer, and Android 13's themed icon still works with any of them. (#37) -
Hide channel bar buttonshas a new switch under it,Hide channel share button, off by default. With it on, the round share button beside channel posts goes away, in the channel itself and in any chat a channel post gets forwarded to. A post's own menu still forwards it. Bots, people's media in public groups and Saved Messages keep their button. -
Stop usage reportshas a new switch under it,Ghost mode, off by default. It has two parts,No read receiptsandView stories anonymously, which start on. With Ghost mode on, people don't see the messages you read as read, in private chats, groups and secret chats, and voice messages you play stay unplayed for them. Stories you watch don't add you to the viewer list. Sending a message in a chat still marks it read, since Telegram does that on its side, and your other devices keep showing chats you read here as unread. The diagnostic report counts the read receipts and story views it kept back. (#45) -
Hide popular appshas a new switch under it,Block new channels and groups, off by default. It's meant as a parental control. With it on, joining a channel or group doesn't go through, whether it's from search, an invite link or a shared folder link, and a channel or group you aren't in won't open, forums included. A short message says new chats are blocked in the HushTelegram settings. Chats you're already in work as before. Turn onLock HushTelegram settingstoo, or the switch can just be turned off again. On a blocked invite or folder link, Telegram also says it can't find the group or folder. The diagnostic report counts the joins and chats it stopped. (#44) -
Reactions to your messages now show a notification on patched builds, which Google's push never reaches.
UnifiedPush notificationshas a new switch under it,Reaction notifications without push, on by default. While Telegram is connected, someone reacting to one of your messages gets the same "reacted to your message" notification Telegram shows from a push, once per reaction. Telegram's ownReactionsswitch in Notifications and Sounds still has to be on. (#41)
Fixes

With
Full screen videos turn either wayorTurn videos only from the full screen buttonon, turning your phone upright no longer takes a video out of full screen. Telegram ends full screen on its own once the phone has been on its side and comes back upright, which with either switch on left the video standing up and stuck that way until you tapped the button again. Full screen now lasts until you tap the button or close the video. (#27) -
When a settings editor can't save what you typed, the reason under the field stays on screen at large text sizes with the keyboard up. The cursor used to scroll it right back out of sight.
-
The API key field in
Translation serviceuses the same letters as the fields above it. Its hint used to show in a typewriter font. -
On a narrow screen or with large text, the HushTelegram settings search box says Search instead of a cut-off "Search settings". TalkBack still reads it as Search settings.
-
Save downloaded filesno longer puts the wrong file in Download/Telegram when two documents have the same name and size. Telegram stores a document under its own name, and when a second one of that name and size arrives it opens the first one's file without downloading anything. That file used to be copied as the second document. Now it stays in Telegram. -
With the HushTelegram settings open, tapping a Telegram link in another app now closes them and shows the chat. The chat used to open behind the settings, so you had to back out of them to see it. Tapping Telegram's icon still brings the settings back as you left them.
-
With TalkBack on, tapping
Pauseat the top of the HushTelegram settings now moves focus to the card that says Telegram will pause, where its Undo button is. Before, focus went nowhere once the button stepped aside. -
In the HushTelegram settings, the search box's outline now goes all the way around while you type. The X that clears the search used to cover its right end.
-
With
Keep Telegram's files in internal storageon, files Telegram downloaded before you turned it on open from Android/data again instead of downloading a second copy. New downloads still land in Internal storage/Telegram. (#7) -
Chats hidden with
Hide picked chatsno longer count toward the unread numbers on the folder tabs, and hiding or unhiding one updates them right away, on every account you're signed in to. The app badge still counts their unread messages, since they keep their notifications. (#24) -
The settings lock now covers
Emoji next to the chat list titletoo. While the settings are locked, tapping it shows the lock note instead of opening the editor. (#17) -
Turning
Hide folder tab counterson or off changes the folder tabs right away. Before, the counts stayed as they were until Telegram restarted. -
Open a folder at launchbrings the folder you picked into view. With more folders than fit across the screen, a pick past the edge used to open selected but out of sight until you scrolled the tabs. With fewer folders the tabs look just as they did. -
TalkBack reads a settings section's state once. Section titles like Ads and Look and feel said "Collapsed, Collapsed" (or "Expanded, Expanded") before the name, because TalkBack already says the state for anything that opens and closes. They still read as headings. (#18)
-
Long words in the HushTelegram settings break where their language hyphenates them. At large text sizes German compounds used to split at whatever letter filled the line, and a name like Firebase-Push-Registrierung moved its hyphen to the start of the next line. Dialog titles, dialog messages and choice lists break the same way now.
-
UnifiedPush notificationsmakes one set of encryption keys the first time it signs up, even when Telegram's own sign-up and a new address from the push app ask for them at the same moment. Two sets could get made, with Telegram signed up on the one that wasn't kept, so turning the switch off later didn't hand notifications back to Firebase until Telegram restarted. Keys that couldn't be saved also stay out of later sign-ups until the next start. -
Keep edit historystarts a message's history over when what it kept for that message can't be read anymore. Before, one damaged entry meant that message never kept an earlier text again. -
Patching with
Use registered Telegram API credentialsfrom the Morphe command line explains a missing API ID. The command line drops a bare number like-O apiId=12345before the patch sees it, and the old message only asked you to fill in both fields. Quote the ID as-O "apiId='12345'"and it goes through. -
With
Hide channel Mute buttonon, the bar at the bottom of a channel comes back the way Telegram last set it once the channel stops showing Mute. If Telegram hid the bar while it was held back, or changed it with the switch off, the bar used to reappear anyway.
Other changes
-
HushTelegram now builds on Morphe patcher 2.1.0, the one that comes with Morphe Manager 2.3.0 and morphe-desktop 1.20.0. Manager won't load a bundle made with a newer patcher than its own, so update Manager to 2.3.0 or newer before you add this release. On a computer, use morphe-desktop 1.20.0 or newer.

When
Quiet,PrivacyorBack to defaultsin Quick setups finds nothing to change, it now says everything was already set that way. It used to say "Changed 0 settings", which sounded like something went wrong. -
Export settingsandImport settingsnow show how the last try went at the top of the row, along with the pop-up message. At large text sizes Android cuts that message off after two lines, so a reason like "That isn't a HushTelegram settings file" lost its end. -
The diagnostic report now counts the GIFs, voice messages and other media that
Save downloaded filesleaves in Telegram, next to the files it copies and the ones it keeps back. (#7) -
Ask before sending a voice or video messagepauses the recording before it asks, the way Telegram does before its own paid-message question, so nothing you say or film while the question is up ends up in the message. Send sends the clip as it was. Cancel leaves it paused in Telegram's preview, where you can play it, delete it or send it. The send button under that preview asks too, and Cancel there keeps the clip just as it was. -
When
Hide All Chatsis on but All Chats is still in the tabs, its description in the settings now says why. Either nothing else opens Archived Chats (turn on the side menu to fix that), your account has no folder of its own to open, or the folder tabs couldn't be read. The diagnostic report counts the same reasons. (#38) -
Turning
Hide Storieson or off now shows the restart button in the settings. Telegram sets up the Post Story button and loads the story list when the chat list opens, so before, the button stayed (or stayed away) until Telegram happened to restart, and nothing told you a restart was needed.
Behind the scenes
-
release.ps1 -Stage publishtakes a walk receipt for each Telegram build the bundle patches, so-Walknames one for telegram.org's build and one for the Play build. It refuses to publish when either is missing, or when the Play build's walk was signed out. Until now one walk of the web build was enough, and nothing had opened the Play build's screens past sign-in. -
The release notes are laid out like the other Hush projects' now. New features, fixes and other changes each get their own heading, the scope labels are gone, setting names show in code style, and the notes end with how to update and what was checked. The CHANGELOG sorts each version's bullets under Added, Changed and Fixed to match.
The changelog has every earlier release too.
How to update
- Install Morphe Manager 2.3.0 or newer. This release is built on a newer patcher than Manager 2.2.0 carries, so update Manager first or it won't load the patches.
- Add HushTelegram as a patch source: https://morphe.software/add-source?github=SysAdminDoc%2FHushTelegram
- Get the right Telegram. From Google Play that's 13.1.1 (
org.telegram.messenger, version code 72371), which APKMirror and Uptodown also carry. From telegram.org's Download button it's 13.1.0 (org.telegram.messenger.web, version code 72299). The patched app needs Android 9 or newer. - Coming from 0.0.21? Patch the APK of the same build you're on and install it over your current HushTelegram with the same Morphe Manager signing key. Your settings and chats stay. New to HushTelegram? Uninstall the stock Telegram first, since Android won't put a patched app over one signed with a different key. Your chats come back when you sign in, but secret chats don't. Back up Morphe Manager's signing key after your first patch. You'll need it for every update.
- If Telegram turns down your login code with
API_ID_PUBLISHED_FLOOD, that's Telegram refusing the public API ID that ships with any patched build, the Play one included. Register your own app at my.telegram.org/apps, using only letters and numbers in the short name. Then selectUse registered Telegram API credentials, fill inapiIdandapiHash, and patch again. The result installs over your current HushTelegram build. Keep both values private. - Want HushTelegram's own icon, or Telegram's logo in white on the black launch screen? Turn on Expert mode in Morphe Manager and pick
HushTelegram icon and nameorBlack and white launch logobefore you patch. The icon now has anIcon styleoption too. - For notifications, open Telegram's Settings, tap Notifications, and turn on
Keep-Alive ServiceandBackground Connectionunder Other, near the bottom of the page. Phones where Firebase notifications don't come through can also try theUnifiedPush notificationsswitch on HushTelegram's Notifications page with a UnifiedPush app like ntfy. - To change HushTelegram's switches, open Telegram's Settings and tap HushTelegram settings, or press and hold the Telegram title at the top of your chat list.
The .mpp download is a patch bundle, not a Telegram APK. Installation instructions.
What was checked
All 1634 runtime tests passed locally, and all 552 patch tests passed too (162 unit tests and 390 that patch the real Telegram APKs), along with both Android lints (the shared library and the Telegram extension). Every one of the 67 patches applied without forcing to telegram.org's Telegram 13.1.0 (version code 72299) and to the Google Play build of 13.1.1 (version code 72371). For each patched build the release receipt checked the package name, version, manifest, native libraries and zip alignment.
Both builds were patched from this exact bundle and installed over the HushTelegram already on a Galaxy S22, without clearing its data. Both were signed in to Telegram. On each one the walk opened Telegram's Settings, Privacy, Folders and Themes pages and a channel, then every section of the HushTelegram settings and the Changed switches page. That's 21 screens per build, with no crash and no problem found on either. On the Google Play build, a long press on the chat list title still opened the HushTelegram settings with a short vibration, and a plain tap on it still scrolled the list back to the top.
Several of the new switches were also tried on a Galaxy S25 running telegram.org's build. Emoji status on this phone showed the picked status in the chat list title and kept it after Telegram restarted. Hide trending packs, Hide channel share button and Hide emoji statuses each hid their part when turned on and brought it back when turned off. On the S22, Save downloaded files copied the right file when two documents shared a name and size.
