Frequently Asked Questions about StatusZERO
StatusZERO is a self-hosted dashboard for monitoring IP addresses against major DNS-based blacklists (DNSBLs). It provides fast, token-protected lookups with no API keys or external services.
Use the Add IP or Remove IP buttons in the interface. You'll need to enter the Admin Token each time.
The token is stored in config.json (generated at install). To change it:
- Edit the value in
config.json - Restart the application
Once daily, at the hour defined by CRON_HOUR in the .env file. You can also trigger manual rechecks anytime.
StatusZERO checks 18 DNSBLs by default. While lists.txt is included for reference, it is not used for live lookups or configuration.
The actual list of supported DNSBLs is embedded into the application logic.
Not directly. StatusZERO does not use a user-editable lists file β and lists.txt is for reference only.
If you'd like support for a specific DNSBL, please submit a feature request on GitHub. We will review and test the list for compatibility with our lookup model and add it if feasible.
None. StatusZERO performs DNS lookups only and stores nothing externally. No usage data is transmitted or logged.
This usually means:
- DNS timeout or rate-limiting
- Resolver configuration issues
- Temporary blacklist server issues
Try lowering BATCH_LIMIT or changing DNS resolvers in your environment.
