v0.7.3

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 29 Oct 14:20

Changes

  • Fewer disk syncs from card tables (#49).
    • Card and seat changes that move no money are batched into one save per table per second instead of a save on every change. Stakes, payouts and floats still save at once, before any money moves.
    • A table file that would be written unchanged is skipped.
    • A wager intent is no longer rewritten as applying after Denars posts it. A crash still leaves the prepared file, which freezes the table for staff review as before.
    • Tables loaded later (chunks not yet loaded at start-up) do less work.
    • A failed batched save keeps the change waiting, retries it, and warns once per table. A table the ownership store is holding is left alone until the hold clears.
    • On Dev, a stake on a card went from 2 table-file writes to 1, and a dealt card from 2 to 1.

No config change.

Changes

  • Blackjack naturals now follow the usual rules (#48). Settlement checked totals before naturals, so a player's blackjack only pushed against a dealer who drew to 21, and a dealer blackjack only pushed against a player's 21 made with three or more cards.
    • A player blackjack beats any other dealer 21 and pays 3 to 2.
    • A dealer blackjack beats any other player 21, including doubled and split hands, which lose their whole stake (there is still no dealer peek).
    • Two blackjacks push. An ace and a ten after a split is still 21, not blackjack, and pays even money.

Config

  • help.yml: new Blackjack page "Blackjack beats 21" after "Getting paid". Existing servers keep their own help.yml, so copy the page in by hand.

Changes

  • The hourly table-estate pass no longer rewrites unchanged receipts (#47). Every hour (and on estate or revive events) Games settles every decided estate again. For a retained estate it rewrote the same receipt each time, forcing the file to disk and then every folder up to the filesystem root. On Main this was a 0.7 s server hitch every hour, and it would grow as finished estates pile up.
    • A receipt that already holds the same content is left alone. Its folder entry is still flushed. Estate outcomes are unchanged, and finished estates are still checked every hour; they just aren't rewritten.
    • Durable writes now force a folder's whole ancestor chain to disk the first time this server run writes there, and again after any failure or whenever Games creates that folder. Later writes only force the folder itself. The temp file, flush and atomic-move guarantee is unchanged.

Config

None.

Changes

  • Coins no longer hide the cards on a table. A pile on a card (the deck, the discard or a dealt board or dealer card) is drawn at the nearest clear spot beside it. This also happens when a card is dealt onto coins that are already there. The coins stay on the felt they were put on, and they return to their spot once the cards are gone. Only where the coins are drawn changes; the money stays where it was put.
  • Clicking coins drawn beside a card adds to that heap instead of starting a new one.
  • Heaps pushed off the same card keep apart, so overflow stacks and different players' coins never collapse into one pile.
  • Payouts and refunds fly from where each heap is actually drawn.
  • New config wager.card-gap (default 0.1 blocks): how far a pile's centre stays from a card's edge. 0 brings back the old behaviour.

Upgrade note

  • wager.card-gap defaults to 0.1 when it is missing, so existing config.yml files need no edit. There are no new messages.yml keys.

Changes

  • Private tables use their recorded character for ownership and guarded property inheritance. Legacy migration preserves raw data and holds unresolved ownership for review; wagers, floats and money remain separate from inherited property.
  • Captured menu and chat sessions reject stale actions. Ownership queries use memory, with full source-content checks before money effects, pickup and persistence.
  • Synchronous session-end refunds can return the recorded character's stakes and idle private float into its outgoing body. Wrong or successor characters, dead bodies and insufficient capacity retain obligations for review; later payouts require ordinary current authority.

Requires Java 21 and Paper 1.21.10. Build APIs remain pinned to TLibs 2.6.0, DenarEconomy 0.3.0, RPCharacters 2.16.0 and SimpleFactions 4.0.0. The approved Dev body cohort requires published RPCharacters 2.20.0 at 738d3ec; these compile-time pins do not authorize another runtime cohort.

Before Dev activation, audit stopped Data/tables/ sources for canonical <table-id>.json UUID filenames. Hold manually imported exceptions for staff review; an existing pickup issue can retain their source and repeat deck returns. Money duplication was not observed. Rejoining private-float owners can still be held before character selection, with value retained.

Keep a complete stopped backup and all migration/wager/estate journals. The rollback helper only restores an exact, unchanged migration with no later progress or estate history and an absent clean-shutdown marker; a JAR-only rollback is insufficient. Inventory delivery and table saves are separate effects, so an interrupted tick requires manual review. Automated verification does not establish native body persistence or exactly-once delivery. Dev activation remains separately gated; Main is excluded from this rollout.
