v0.4.0: Support for new formats and better logging

Choose a tag to compare

@Tahaa-Dev Tahaa-Dev released this 06 Jan 15:19

What's new

  • Added --input-delimiter / --output-delimiter flag
  • Added --log-file flag
  • Made arg parsing global with a static LazyLock
  • Fixed issues with validators

Removed

  • Completely removed --verbose flag as it is now redundant

For full changelog, see CHANGELOG.md.

v0.3.0: Better error-handling with ResExt

Choose a tag to compare

@Tahaa-Dev Tahaa-Dev released this 03 Jan 12:02

What's new

  • Added more performant error-handling using ResExt (my new crate)
  • Added better error messages with context chains
  • Made some errors recoverable (e.g. invalid rows in a CSV file don't stop the conversion and instead aren't included in output)
  • Simplified matching logic in main.rs
  • Removed the WrtierStreams::Temp {} variant from WriterStreams as it became obsolete with the simplification

Changes

Removed verbose flag from convert operations, so this is not valid anymore:

fiox convert <INPUT> -o <OUTPUT> -v

Instead, if you need more verbose error messages you should use:

fiox validate <INPUT> -v

Note: The first crates.io release will be on v0.4.0, or on v0.5.0 which will be polish for v0.4.0.
