Adding several options (#52)

  • Add nonumber option for unnumbered figure captions

Introduces a 'nonumber' flag to the MetadataFigure directive, allowing figures to display captions without numbering. Updates logic to handle original captions for unnumbered figures, ensures correct metadata display, and improves handling of caption and license HTML injection. Also includes consistent use of double quotes and minor code formatting improvements.

  • Add support for numbered figures without captions

Introduces a :number: option to the figure directive, allowing figures to be numbered even when no caption is provided. Adds logic to handle mutually exclusive :number: and :nonumber: options, and inserts an invisible caption placeholder for numbering. Updates CSS to hide the placeholder caption text while preserving figure numbering.

  • Enhance MetadataFigure directive and improve formatting

Expanded the MetadataFigure directive to support additional options, including copyright, source, placement, show, admonition_title, admonition_class, bib, nonumber, and number. Made the image argument optional and handled the case where no image is provided. Improved code formatting for readability and consistency, and added more robust merging of user and default settings.

  • Add support for figures without images or captions

Extended figure directive to allow figures without images, captions, or numbers, with appropriate warnings and documentation updates. Improved handling of mutually exclusive :number: and :nonumber: options, clarified page-level metadata defaults, and ensured page defaults are cleared before document reads to prevent stale data.

  • Adjust figure width in MANUAL.ipynb

  • Expand figure examples and add license metadata section

Updated the figures section to include more detailed examples, clarifying cases with missing images, numbers, and captions. Added a new section demonstrating how to specify license metadata for figures, including various combinations of image, number, caption, and license attributes.
