v0.1.2

This patch has not been confirmed to fix false overheating on any device. It
changes one number in the device tree: the temperature at which the battery driver
force-powers-off the phone. Nobody who has built this has flashed it either.
Before downloading, understand the costs:
- Flashing a modified partition trips the Knox e-fuse (0x1). Physical and
irreversible: Samsung Pay, Secure Folder and parts of the warranty are gone for good. - Raising the shutdown threshold removes a safety cut-out on a 5,000 mAh cell.
- If the phone shuts down because of an aged battery rather than a misreading sensor,
this changes nothing. Charge above 50% and check voltage behaviour first.
Which file do I want?
| File | For |
|---|---|
patch-dtbo-windows-x64.exe |
Windows, nothing to install |
patch-dtbo-macos-arm64 |
Apple Silicon Mac (chmod +x, then right-click Open once) |
patch-dtbo-macos-x64 |
Intel Mac |
patch-dtbo-linux-x64 |
Linux, chmod +x |
patch-dtbo.mjs |
any machine with Node 18+; run node patch-dtbo.mjs |
SHA256SUMS.txt |
verify your download: sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS.txt |
Each binary is an unmodified Node runtime with this script injected and no code
signature, so SmartScreen/Gatekeeper will warn on first run. That is expected, not
a sign of tampering - but verify the checksum anyway.
Use
patch-dtbo-windows-x64.exe --input AP_M325FXXSDDYE3.tar.md5 --list
patch-dtbo-windows-x64.exe --input AP_M325FXXSDDYE3.tar.md5 --apply
--list only reads. --apply writes out/AP_dtbo_patched.tar.md5, then re-reads its
own output and refuses to finish unless every other property in the device tree is
byte-identical to your input. Full walkthrough: TUTORIAL.md.
