Symbiont v2.0.1
Publication verified. All required checks and release workflows passed. Eleven 2.0.1 crates, both versioned containers, all four signed binary archives and the Homebrew update are published. Checksums, signatures and source provenance were independently verified; the public installer passed its smoke test.
Symbiont 2.0.1 completes the 2.0 release packaging with a Windows compilation fix, a corrected versioned installer and clearer installation and verification guidance.
- Fix the Windows scheduler error conversion. Portable CLI functionality builds on Windows; protected scheduled execution, durable chat admission and governed improvements still require Unix and refuse unsupported operation.
- Resolve installer downloads from the release checksum manifest, pin the matching version and require SHA-256 verification before extraction on Linux and macOS.
- Check the Windows CLI in CI and run all four release builds before publication, in addition to exact-commit tests and Linux Landlock qualification.
- Update the English documentation and then German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Simplified Chinese translations, including platform limits and signature verification.
The eleven main workspace crates are aligned at 2.0.1. Unchanged helpers remain at their existing versions. The 2.0.0 tag, published crates and versioned containers are unchanged; its prebuilt binaries were not published because the Windows build failed. Use 2.0.1 for the complete release.
Existing deployments should read the 2.0 migration guide before upgrading. Strict tool contracts, protected audit storage, authentication and signed-skill changes apply across the 2.0 series. Prompt caching and governed improvements remain optional.
Verify downloaded artifacts using the release verification guide. Landlock requires the documented Linux kernel and systemd facilities; macOS and Windows builds do not provide Linux Landlock containment. Linux qualification uses synthetic providers and does not establish model quality or billing savings.
See the changelog for details.
Release source: 926f4a291b35b1a71f8f2013ba0fb8a0808139bd. The Linux qualification run passed all six groups with a clean source tree and a qualification binary unchanged throughout testing. The Test workflow also passed on this exact commit.
The four-platform preflight passed for Linux x86_64/ARM64, macOS ARM64 and Windows x86_64. Archive contents and executable architectures were checked independently. The packaged Linux CLI reports 2.0.1, scaffolds an assistant project and validates its DSL and the migration guide’s example tool manifest.
Pre-Built Binaries
Note: Pre-built binaries are tested but considered less reliable than installing via
cargo install symbior Docker (ghcr.io/thirdkeyai/symbi). If you encounter issues, please try those methods first.
Quick Install
macOS / Linux:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/thirdkeyai/symbiont/main/scripts/install.sh | bashHomebrew (macOS):
brew tap thirdkeyai/tap
brew install symbiManual download:
Download the appropriate binary for your platform from the assets below. Verify checksums with checksums.txt.
Verification
Each archive and checksums.txt is signed with Sigstore. Follow the
release verification guide
for current Cosign commands. Verify the expected release workflow,
source commit and checksum before extraction; release-source.json
is covered by the signed checksum manifest.
