Change Log

  • Common Changes
    • Updated README.md to add correct some typos and add more detail on how to use the hid library.
    • Updated usage information for every script to be more details and to document the possible script return codes.
      • All scripts use identical code to establish a connection with the aXiom device.
      • Added version information to all the scripts.
    • Updated all the script to leverage the changes to the axiom_tc python module. Requires axiom_tc version v4.8.7.x or newer.
    • Fixed the licence information for all files.
  • axcfg.py
    • The config file is now read into memory before being written to the device. This allows the config file to be checked that it is compatible (created with the same version of firmware that is on the current device) before committing any config changes to the device.
    • Sometimes it was possible to end up with mismatched CRCs. A u02 CMD_FILL_CONFIG command is used at the start of the config load to address this. This would have affected u04, so u04 is backed up first.
  • axfactdata.py
    • Display the factory data in a more pleasant format on the command line.
    • Create a proper binary file if the user opts to output the contents to a file instead.
  • axfw.py
    • Made the .axfw and .alc download files more common and consistent to clearly demonstrate that an .axfw file encapsulates a .alc file. The .axfw file contains meta data about the firmware (version, target device etc).
  • axrpt.py
    • Made the whole of axrpt.py more polished and usable.
    • Command line parameters are now used to select which reports to filter.
    • Currently only supports u01 and u41 reports, but more can easily be added in the future.
    • As the script runs until the user presses CTRL+C, the signal is captured so that the connection to the device can be safely closed.
      • This is mainly for USB connections.
  • axut.py
    • Tidied up and now outputs the updated usage table which is slightly more user friendly.
