Motivated by wanting to build under more recent systems with
newer OpenSSL.

- Issue #179: Update easyDNS plugin to new API, by Nicholas Alipaz

[v2.2][] - 2017-08-09
---------------------

### Changes
- Use HTTP by default for DYN.com checkip server, used by many DDNS
  providers that do not have their own. This change is far more user
  friendly since you no longer have to explicitly set `checkip-ssl =
  false` for the most common use-case.
- Some DDNS providers have multiple IP addresses registered for the same
  service, as of this release Inadyn immediately tries to connect to the
  next listed addresses on connection problems.
- Issue #153: Support for custom HTTP User Agent. Useful with providers
  that require using a specific brower. Set to, e.g. "Mozilla/4.0", or
  rely on the default "inadyn/VERSION" user agent.
- Support for the `%%` format specifier in custom server URL's, as
  mentioned in issue #152.
- Add support for a `.conf` syntax checker: `inadyn --check-config`
- Add support for logging to `stderr` when running in foreground or
  without syslog enabled
- Simplified provider name lookup in `.conf` file. Now substring match
  is used, resulting in support for `provider Dyn { ... }`.
- Remove libite dependency by importing all its used files into inadyn.
  This should ease adoption by distributions and end users. All code
  is under free licenses: BSD, ISC.
- Import Timur's Debian packaging, adding debconf support

### Fixes
- Issue #152: Do not attempt to create PID file in oneshot mode (`-1`)
- Issue #152: Must URL encode custom server URL's
- Issue #170: Use configured `--prefix` not hard coded `/etc/inadyn.conf`
- Issue #172: Use separate variable for `--iface` command line option and
  `.conf` file option

[v2.1][] - 2016-12-04
---------------------

### Changes
- Use HTTPS instead of HTTP by default
- Support for disabling HTTPS for `checkip-server`, per provider.
  Idea from Valery Frolov
- Add `-I,--ident=NAME` option for syslog+pidfile name
- Deprecate `--pidfile=NAME` option in favor of `--ident=NAME`

### Fixes
- Issue #150: Custom update URL parser fixes
- Issue #151: Support for detecting OpenSSL v1.1
- Issue #144: Clarify use of public vs private IP. It is possible
  to register private IP addresses in a public DNS
- Clarify `--foreground` option in man page
- Document minimum required versions of libite and libConfuse
- Portability fixes, replace `__progname` with a small function,
  replace `%m` with `%s` and `strerror(errno)`.

[v2.0][] - 2016-09-12
---------------------

New configuration file format, changed command line options, improved
HTTPS support using GnuTLS and Open/LibreSSL. Inadyn now comes with
certificate validation enabled by default.

### Changes
- New configuration file format using [libConfuse][]
- Radically simplified command line, a .conf file is now required
- Reorganized SSL code, split `ssl.c` into `openssl.c` and `gnutls.c`
- Strict HTTPS certificate validation is now default. To disable this
  use `strict-ssl = false` in the .conf file.
- Certificate validation uses trusted CA certificates from the system
  with fall-backs to certain known locations. To override this default
  handling a `ca-trust-file = FILE` setting in `inadyn.conf` can be used
  to provide the path to another CA cert bundle, in PEM format.
- Massive overhaul of `inadyn(8)` and `inadyn.conf(5)` man pages
- Support for reading address from interface, including IPv6 addresses
- Support for calling an external script to get the IP address
- Support for multiple users @ same provider, idea from Valery Frolov:

        provider default@no-ip.com:1 {
            username    = ian
            password    = secret
            alias       = flemming.no-ip.com
        }

        provider default@no-ip.com:2 {
            username    = james
            password    = bond
            alias       = spectre.no-ip.com
        }

- Support for ddnss.de and dynv6.com, contributed by Sven Hoefer
- Support for spdyn.de, on request from Frank Röhm
- Support for strato.com, contributed by Duncan Overbruck
- Support for disabling IP address validation: `verify-address = false`
- Refactored memory handling and privilige separation to simplify code
- Refactored logging and backgrounding to simplify code
- Removed old compatibility symlinks and other required GNU specific
  files, we now distribute and install README.md and ChangeLog.md

### Fixes
- Fix issue #61: Add HTTPS certificate validation for OpenSSL/LibreSSL
- Fix issue #67: Use GnuTLS native API for HTTPS
- Fix DuckDNS: now requires 'www.' prefix in server URL. By Frank Aurich
- Fix issue #110: Poodle `SSL_MODE_SEND_FALLBACK_SCSV` not needed
- Fix issue #101: Remove support for custom pidfile
- Fix issue #102: Relocate cache files `/var/run/inadyn` to `/var/cache/inadyn`
- Fix issue #113: `--drop-privs` does not work
- Add actual permissions check to `os_check_perms()`
- Fix issue #121: Support for fully customizable update URL
- Fix issue #122: Only use HTTPS connection for DNS update, not checkip
- Fix issue #131: Use FreeDNS' own checkip server instead of DYN.com's
- Fix issue #134: Support wildcard cert with GnuTLS backend

jperkin pushed a commit that referenced this issue May 3, 2020
pkgsrc changes:
 - Remove patches/patch-configure: applied uptsream
 - Convert the CHECK_PORTABILITY_SKIP to a REPLACE_BASH: it is more consistent
   with other REPLACE_BASHes (there are several files that are not installed
   then) and complaining about `==' test(1) operator in a bash script is
   not correct.

Changes:
1.27.4
------
- libcupsfilters, cups-browsed: Fix memory issues in
  ppdgenerator and cups-browsed (Pull request #226).
- pdftops: Mention cups-filters README, CUPS README in debug
  log (Pull request #225).
- pdftopdf, gstoraster, foomatic-rip: Use "-dSAFER"
  Ghostscript option, instead of the deprecated
  "-dPARANOIDSAFER" (Pull request #224).
- Build System: Replace '==' in configure.ac test with '=', as
  the former is a bashism (Pull request #222).

1.27.3
------
- cups-browsed: Allow sharing local queues pointing to remote
  CUPS queues and re-sharing printers discovered via
  BrowsePoll by default, using
  AllowResharingRemoteCUPSPrinters and
  NewBrowsePollQueuesShared directives in cups-browsed.conf
  (Issue #101, Pull request #218).
- driverless: Correctly unlink temporary file when generating
  PPD file (Pull request #220).
- cups-browsed: Fixed memory leaks (Pull request #219).
- foomatic-rip: PDF page count side-loads the PDF file to
  count the pages in, so it cannot be run in -dSAFER mode. Run
  even in -dNOSAFER mode to override the -dSAFER default of
  newer Ghostscript versions. This should not cause a security
  problem as we do not take an input file which could do
  arbitrary side-loads but we run hard-coded PostScript
  commands instead (Issue #216).
- libfontembed: Add checks to the test programs to not
  segfault if the test font file is not found (Pull request
  #214).
- Build System: Let ./configure fail if the supplied test font
  file path (or the default) does not exist (Pull request
  #214), also use the "find" command to find the test font
  file DejaVuSans.ttf under /usr/share/fonts, as every
  distribution has it somewhere else.

1.27.2
------
- foomatic-rip: In some PostScript input files it was possible
  that option settings did not get inserted or lines inserted
  on the wron place (Issue #208, Pull request #210).
- foomatic-rip: For the PDF page count call Ghostscript in
  sandbox mode and fix pointer arithmetics (Pull request
  #212).
- foomatic-rip: Zero-page-job handling changes made the last
  page of PostScript files not printed, also turning one-page
  jobs into zero-page jobs (Issue #200, Issue #206, Issue
  #208, Pull request #209, Pull request #210, Pull request
  #211).
- cups-browsed: check_printer_with_option() function:
  Initialize the value, add further checks, freeing memory and
  stop allocating magic numbers (Pull request #204).
- cups-browsed: Additional checks against crashes in the
  is_local_hostname() function (Ubuntu bug #1863716)

1.27.1
------
- libcupsfilters: Let the PPD generator not put any dashes
  into the PPD option and choice names when translating them
  from IPP attribute names, to avoid that on the
  back-translation by CUPS no double-dashes are
  generated. This broke paper tray selections with tray names
  like "tray-1", "tray-2", ... (Issue #192, Issue #201, Debian
  bug #949315).
- foomatic-rip: Fixed segfault when PRINTER environment
  variable is not supplied.
- pdftopdf, pdftops, gstoraster, gstopdf, gstopxl,
  rastertoescpx, rastertopclx, foomatic-rip: Handle zero-page
  jobs (Issue #117, Pull request #196, Pull request #197, Pull
  request #198, Pull request #200).
- texttopdf: Added support for CJK (double-width) fonts (Issue
  #135, Pull request #199).
- cups-browsed: Switched default for "CreateIPPPrinterQueues"
  from "local-only" to "All". The configure script options
  "--enable-auto-setup-local-only" and
  "--enable-auto-setup-driverless-only" can be used to change
  this default (Debian bug #921252).
- rastertoescpx: Fixed wrong freeing of a buffer.
- pdftops: Added options "crop-to-fit" and "fill" to the
  pdftopdf options which the pstops called by pdftops should
  not apply a second time.
- pdftops: Added missing "-sstdout=%stderr" to Ghostscript
  command line, to assure that all messages are redirected to
  stderr and do not mix up with the output data.

1.27.0
------
- cups-browsed: Eliminate the use of the local CUPS daemon's
  (the CUPS we are attached to) port number completely, so
  that for attaching to an arbitrary local CUPS daemon
  listening on an arbitrary port (or even not listening on
  localhost at all) it is enough to tell cups-browsed the
  domain socket the CUPS daemon is listening on.
- cups-browsed, libcupsfilters: Identify DNS-SD-reported
  printers as of the local CUPS daemon via UUID and not via
  the port on which the local CUPS is listening, as we do not
  always have this port available.
- cups-browsed: Leave the port for legacy CUPS browsing and
  broadcasting on 631, do not use a possible alternative port
  of the CUPS we are attached to. The legacy CUPS servers we
  communicate with are always remote ones.
- libcupsfilters: in the PPD generator prioritize
  print-color-mode-supported against
  pwg-raster-document-type-supported (Issue #186, Pull request
  #188)
- rastertopdf, rastertops, texttopdf, pdftoraster,
  mupdftoraster: Handle zero-page jobs, corrections on
  zero-page job handling (Issue #117)
- cups-browsed: When restarting after a crash make sure that
  local queue names have same upper/lower case as before.
- cups-browsed: Small code improvements to reduce crash
  probability.

1.26.2
------
- cups-browsed: Added crash guards to avoid crashes in case
  the dummy printer entry for a deleted master entry is used.
- cups-browsed: Set the port of the local CUPS daemon to be
  used according to the IPP_PORT environment variable.
- cups-browsed: Eliminated the use of the cupsGetPPD2()
  function of libcups completely, also the remaining calls
  in the record_printer_options() and update_cups_queues()
  functions, the former causing incomplete recording of
  option settings and the latter use of CUPS-generated
  PPDs not working when CUPS is running on a non-standard
  port.
- cups-browsed: Eliminated the use of the cupsGetPPD2()
  function of libcups in queue_overwritten(). The function
  actually loads the queue's PPD file if the queue is on a
  local CUPS on port 631. Due to a bug the function fails if
  an alternative port is used. This lets queue_overwritten()
  always assume that the PPD got removed and therefore the
  queue got overwritten. So queues got released from
  cups-browsed if it was printed on them or if they were
  supposed to be removed on shutdown.
- foomatic-rip: Fixed compilation with -fno-common. Starting
  from the upcoming GCC 10, the default of the -fcommon option
  will change to -fno-common. This causes compilation errors
  in foomatic-rip due to missing "external" declarations.

# fs 1.5.0
----------

* The libuv release used by fs was updated to 1.38.1

* `dir_create()` now consults the process umask so the mode during
  directory creation works like `mkdir` does (#284).

* `fs_path`, `fs_bytes` and `fs_perms` objects are now compatible with vctrs 0.3.0 (#266)

* `fs_path` objects now sort properly when there is a mix of ASCII and
  unicode elements (#279)

# fs 1.4.2
----------
* `file_info(..., follow = TRUE)`, `is_dir()`, and `is_file()`
  follow relative symlinks in non-current directories (@heavywatal, #280)

* `dir_map()` now grows its internal list safely, the 1.4.0 release
  introduced an unsafe regression (#268)

* `file_info()` returns a tibble if the tibble package is installed,
  and subsets work when it is a `data.frame` (#265)

* `path_real()` always fails if the file does not exist. Thus it can no longer
  be used to resolve symlinks further up the path hierarchy for files that do not
  yet exist. This reverts the feature introduced in 1.2.7 (#144, #221, #231)

# fs 1.4.1
----------
* Fix compilation on Solaris.

# fs 1.4.0
----------
* `[[.fs_path`, `[[.fs_bytes` and `[[.fs_perms` now preserve their
  classes after subsetting (#254).

* `path_has_parent()` now recycles both the `path` and `parent` arguments (#253).
* `path_ext_set()` now recycles both the `path` and `ext` arguments (#250).
* Internally fs no longer depends on Rcpp

# fs 1.3.2
----------
* fs now passes along `CPPFLAGS` during compilation of libuv, fixing an issue that could
  prevent compilation from source on macOS Catalina. (@kevinushey, #229)

* fs now compiles on alpine linux (#210)

* `dir_create()` now works with absolute paths and `recurse = FALSE` (#204).

* `dir_tree()` now works with paths that need tilde expansion (@dmurdoch, @jennybc, #203).

* `file_info()` now returns file sizes with the proper classes
  ("fs_bytes" and "numeric"), rather than just "fs_bytes" (#239)

* `get_dirent_type()` gains a `fail` argument (@bellma-lilly, #219)

* `Is_Dir()`, `is_file()`, `is_file_empty()` and `file_info()` gain a
  `follow` argument, to follow links and return information about the
  linked file rather than the link itself (#198)

* `path()` now follows "tidy" recycling rules, namely only consistent
  or length 1 inputs are recycled. (#238)

* `path()` now errors if the path given or constructed will exceed `PATH_MAX` (#233).

* `path_ext_set()` now works with multiple paths (@maurolepore, #208).

  * Can not access GObject properties of classes without GI information [Juan
    Pablo Ugarte, !385, #299]

Version 1.63.90
---------------

- New JS API: The GObject module has gained new overrides:
  GObject.signal_handler_find(), GObject.signal_handlers_block_matched(),
  GObject.signal_handlers_unblock_matched(), and
  GObject.signal_handlers_disconnect_matched(). These overrides replace the
  corresponding C API, which was not idiomatic for JavaScript and was not fully
  functional because it used bare C pointers for some of its functionality.
  See modules/overrides/GObject.js for API documentation.

- New JavaScript features! This version of GJS is based on SpiderMonkey 68, an
  upgrade from the previous ESR (Extended Support Release) of SpiderMonkey 60.
  Here are the highlights of the new JavaScript features.
  For more information, look them up on MDN or devdocs.io.

  * New language features
    + The BigInt type, currently a stage 3 proposal in the ES standard, is now
      available.

  * New syntax
    + `globalThis` is now the ES-standard supported way to get the global
      object, no matter what kind of JS environment. The old way, `window`, will
      still work, but is no longer preferred.
    + BigInt literals are expressed by a number with "n" appended to it: for
      example, `1n`, `9007199254740992n`.

  * New APIs
    + String.prototype.trimStart() and String.prototype.trimEnd() now exist and
      are preferred instead of trimLeft() and trimRight() which are nonstandard.
    + String.prototype.matchAll() allows easier access to regex capture groups.
    + Array.prototype.flat() flattens nested arrays, well-known from lodash and
      similar libraries.
    + Array.prototype.flatMap() acts like a reverse filter(), allowing adding
      elements to an array while iterating functional-style.
    + Object.fromEntries() creates an object from iterable key-value pairs.
    + Intl.RelativeTimeFormat is useful for formatting time differences into
      human-readable strings such as "1 day ago".
    + BigInt64Array and BigUint64Array are two new typed array types.

  * New behaviour
    + There are a lot of minor behaviour changes as SpiderMonkey's JS
      implementation conforms ever closer to existing ECMAScript standards and
      adopts new ones. For complete information, read the Firefox developer
      release notes:
      https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/61#JavaScript
      https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/62#JavaScript
      https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/63#JavaScript
      https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/64#JavaScript
      https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/65#JavaScript
      https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/66#JavaScript
      https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/67#JavaScript
      https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/68#JavaScript

  * Backwards-incompatible changes
    + The nonstandard String generics were removed. These had only ever been
      implemented by Mozilla and never made it into a standard. (An example of a
      String generic is calling a string method on something that might not be a
      string like this: `String.endsWith(foo, 5)`. The proper way is
      `String.prototype.endsWith.call(foo, 5)` or converting `foo` to a string.)
      This should not pose much of a problem for existing code, since in the
      previous version these would already print a deprecation warning whenever
      they were used.
      You can use `moz68tool` from mozjs-deprecation-tools
      (https://gitlab.gnome.org/ptomato/moz60tool) to scan your code for this
      nonstandard usage.

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * invalid import on signal.h [#295, !382, Philip Chimento]
  * SpiderMonkey 68 [#270, !386, Philip Chimento]
  * GObject: Add override for GObject.handler_block_by_func [#290, !371, Philip
    Chimento]

Version 1.63.3
--------------

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * JS ERROR: TypeError: this._rooms.get(...) is undefined [Philip Chimento,
    #289, !367]
  * Run CI build with --werror [Philip Chimento, #286, !365]
  * build: Remove Autotools build system [Philip Chimento, !364]
  * gjs-symlink script is incompatible with distro builds [Michael Catanzaro,
    Bastien Nocera, #291, !369, !370]
  * installed-tests: Don't hardcode the path of bash [Ting-Wei Lan, !372]
  * Update Visual Studio build instructions (after migrating to full Meson-based
    builds) [Chun-wei Fan, !375]
  * object: Warn when setting a deprecated property [Florian Müllner, !378]
  * CI: Create mozjs68 CI images [Philip Chimento, !379]
  * Various maintenance [Philip Chimento, !374, !380, !381]

Version 1.58.4
--------------

- Now prints a warning when constructing an unregistered object inheriting from
  GObject (i.e. if you forgot to use GObject.registerClass.) In 1.58.2 this
  would throw an exception, which broke some existing code, so that change was
  reverted in 1.58.3. In this version the check is reinstated, but we log a
  warning instead of throwing an exception, so that people know to fix their
  code, but without breaking things.
  NOTE: In 1.64 (the next stable release) the warning will be changed back into
  an exception, because code with this problem can be subtly broken and cause
  unexpected errors elsewhere. So make sure to fix your code if you get this
  warning.

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * GSettings crash fixes [Andy Holmes, !373]

- Memory savings for Cairo objects [Philip Chimento, !374]

- Fix for crash in debug functions [Philip Chimento, !374]

Version 1.63.2
--------------

- There is an option for changing the generated GType name for GObject classes
  created in GJS to a new scheme that is less likely to have collisions. This
  scheme is not yet the default, but you can opt into it by setting
  `GObject.gtypeNameBasedOnJSPath = true;` as early as possible in your
  prograṁ. Doing this may require some changes in Glade files if you use
  composite widget templates.

  We recommend you make this change in your codebase as soon as possible, to
  avoid any surprises in the future.

- New JS API: GObject.Object has gained a stop_emission_by_name() method which
  is a bit more idiomatic than calling GObject.signal_stop_emission_by_name().

- It's now supported to use the "object" attribute in a signal connection in a
  composite widget template in a Glade file.

- Closed bugs and merge requests:

- Various crash fixes backported from the development branch that didn't close
  a bug or merge request.

Version 1.63.1
--------------

- Note that the 1.59, 1.60, 1.61, and 1.62 releases are hereby skipped, because
  we are calling the next stable series 1.64 to match gobject-introspection and
  GLib.

- GJS now includes a Meson build system. This is now the preferred way to build
  it; however, the old Autotools build system is still available for a
  transitional period.

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * GObject: Add convenience wrapper for signal_handler_(un)block() [Florian
    Müllner, !326]
  * GObject based class initialization checks [Marco Trevisan, Philip Chimento,

- No change from 1.57.92.

Version 1.57.92
---------------

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * tests: Enable regression test cases for GPtrArrays and GArrays of structures
    [Stéphane Seng, !334]
  * Various maintenance [Philip Chimento, !333, !335]

Version 1.57.91
---------------

- GJS no longer links to libgtk-3. This makes it possible to load the Gtk-4.0
  typelib in GJS and write programs that use GTK 4.

- The heapgraph tool has gained some improvements; it is now possible to print a
  heap graph of multiple targets. You can also mark an object for better
  identification in the heap graph by assigning a magic property: for example,
  myObject.__heapgraph_name = 'Button' will make that object identify itself as
  "Button" in heap graphs.

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * Remove usage of Lang in non legacy code [Sonny Piers, !322]
  * GTK4 [Florian Müllner, #99, !328, !330]
  * JS syntax fixes [Marco Trevisan, Philip Chimento, !306, !323]

  * Implement all GObject-introspection test suites [Philip Chimento, !327,
    !332]
  * Heapgraph improvements [Philip Chimento, !325]

Version 1.57.90
---------------

- New JS API: GLib.Variant has gained a recursiveUnpack() method which
  transforms the variant entirely into a JS object, discarding all type
  information. This can be useful for dealing with a{sv} dictionaries, where
  deepUnpack() will keep the values as GLib.Variant instances in order to
  preserve the type information.

- New JS API: GLib.Variant has gained a deepUnpack() method which is exactly the
  same as the already existing deep_unpack(), but fits with the other camelCase
  APIs that GJS adds.

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * Marshalling of GPtrArray broken [#9, !311, Stéphane Seng]
  * Fix locale chooser [!313, Philip Chimento]
  * dbus-wrapper: Remove interface skeleton flush idle on dispose [!312, Marco
    Trevisan]
  * gobject: Use auto-compartment when getting property as well [!316, Florian
    Müllner]
  * modules/signals: Use array destructuring in _emit [!317, Jonas Dreßler]
  * GJS can't call glibtop_init function from libgtop [#259, !319,
    Philip Chimento]
  * GLib's VariantDict is missing lookup [#263, !320, Sonny Piers]
  * toString on an object implementing an interface fails [#252, !299, Marco
    Trevisan]
  * Regression in GstPbutils.Discoverer::discovered callback [#262, !318, Philip
    Chimento]
  * GLib.Variant.deep_unpack not working properly with a{sv} variants [#225,
    !321, Fabián Orccón, Philip Chimento]
  * Various maintenance [!315, Philip Chimento]

- Various CI fixes [Philip Chimento]

Version 1.57.4
--------------

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * gjs 1.57 requires a recent sysprof version for sysprof-capture-3 [#258,
    !309, Olivier Fourdan]

- Misc documentation changes [Philip Chimento]

Version 1.57.3
--------------

- The GJS profiler is now integrated directly into Sysprof 3, via the
  GJS_TRACE_FD environment variable. Call stack information and garbage
  collector timing will show up in Sysprof. See also GNOME/Initiatives#10

- New JS API: System.addressOfGObject(obj) will return a string with the hex
  address of the underlying GObject of `obj` if it is a GObject wrapper, or
  throw an exception if it is not. This is intended for debugging.

- New JS API: It's now possible to pass a value from Gio.DBusProxyFlags to the
  constructor of a class created by Gio.DBusProxy.makeProxyWrapper().

- Backwards-incompatible change: Trying to read a write-only property on a DBus
  proxy object, or write a read-only property, will now throw an exception.
  Previously it would fail silently. It seems unlikely any code is relying on
  the old behaviour, and if so then it was probably masking a bug.

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * Build failure on Continuous [#253, !300, Philip Chimento]
  * build: Bump glib requirement [!302, Florian Müllner]
  * profiler: avoid clearing 512 bytes of stack [!304, Christian Hergert]

  * Add support for GJS_TRACE_FD [!295, Christian Hergert]
  * Gio: Make possible to pass DBusProxyFlags to proxy wrapper [!297, Marco
    Trevisan]
  * Various maintenance [!301, Philip Chimento]
  * Marshalling of GPtrArray broken [#9, !307, Stéphane Seng]
  * Build fix [!308, Philip Chimento]
  * Gio: sync dbus wrapper properties flags [!298, Marco Trevisan]
  * GjsMaybeOwned: Reduce allocation when used as Object member [!303, Marco
    Trevisan]

Version 1.57.2
--------------

- There are now overrides for Gio.SettingsSchema and Gio.Settings which avoid
  aborting the whole process when trying to access a nonexistent key or child
  schema. The original API from GLib was intended for apps, since apps should
  have complete control over which settings keys they are allowed to access.
  However, it is not a good fit for shell extensions, which may need to access
  different settings keys depending on the version of GNOME shell they're
  running on.

  This feature is based on code from Cinnamon which the copyright holders have
  kindly agreed to relicense to GJS's license.

- New JS API: It is now possible to pass GObject.TypeFlags to
  GObject.registerClass(). For example, passing
  `GTypeFlags: GObject.TypeFlags.ABSTRACT` in the class info object, will create
  a class that cannot be instantiated. This functionality was present in
  Lang.Class but has been missing from GObject.registerClass().

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * Document logging features [#230, !288, Andy Holmes]
  * Support optional GTypeFlags value in GObject subclasses [!290, Florian
    Müllner]

  * gnome-sound-recorder crashes deep inside libgjs [#223, !266, Philip
    Chimento]
  * Various maintenance [!267, Philip Chimento]
  * wrapperutils: Define $gtype property as non-enumerable [!268, Philip
    Chimento]

Version 1.55.90
---------------

- New JS API: It's now possible to call and implement DBus methods whose
  parameters or return types include file descriptor lists (type signature 'h'.)
  This involves passing or receiving a Gio.UnixFDList instance along with the
  parameters or return values.

  To call a method with a file descriptor list, pass the Gio.UnixFDList along
  with the rest of the parameters, in any order, the same way you would pass a
  Gio.Cancellable or async callback.

  For return values, things are a little more complicated, in order to avoid
  breaking existing code. Previously, synchronously called DBus proxy methods
  would return an unpacked GVariant. Now, but only if called with a
  Gio.UnixFDList, they will return [unpacked GVariant, Gio.UnixFDList]. This
  does not break existing code because it was not possible to call a method with
  a Gio.UnixFDList before, and the return value is unchanged if not calling with
  a Gio.UnixFDList. This does mean, unfortunately, that if you have a method
  with an 'h' in its return signature but not in its argument signatures, you
  will have to call it with an empty FDList in order to receive an FDList with
  the return value, when calling synchronously.

  On the DBus service side, when receiving a method call, we now pass the
  Gio.UnixFDList received from DBus to the called method. Previously, sync
  methods were passed the parameters, and async methods were passed the
  parameters plus the Gio.DBusInvocation object. Appending the Gio.UnixFDList to
  those parameters also should not break existing code.

  See the new tests in installed-tests/js/testGDBus.js for examples of calling
  methods with FD lists.

- We have observed on the CI server that GJS 1.55.90 will hang forever while
  running the test suite compiled with GCC 9.0.0 and configured with the
  --enable-asan and --enable-ubsan arguments. This should be addressed in one of
  the following 1.55.x releases.

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * GDBus proxy overrides should support Gio.DBusProxy.call_with_unix_fd_list()
    [#204, !263, Philip Chimento]

Version 1.52.5
--------------

- This was a release consisting only of backports from the GNOME 3.30 branch to
  the GNOME 3.28 branch.

- This release includes the "Big Hammer" patch from GNOME 3.30 to reduce memory
  usage. For more information, read the blog post at
  https://feaneron.com/2018/04/20/the-infamous-gnome-shell-memory-leak/
  It was not originally intended to be backported to GNOME 3.28, but in practice
  several Linux distributions already backported it, and it has been working
  well to reduce memory usage, and the bugs have been ironed out of it.

  It does decrease performance somewhat, so if you don't want that then don't
  install this update.

  * byteArray: Add compatibility toString property [Philip Chimento, !227]

Version 1.53.92
---------------

- Technology preview of a GNOME 3.32 feature: native Promises for GIO-style
  asynchronous operations. This is the result of Avi Zajac's summer internship.
  To use it, you can opt in once for each specific asynchronous method, by
  including code such as the following:

      Gio._promisify(Gio.InputStream.prototype, 'read_bytes_async',
          'read_bytes_finish');

  After executing this, you will be able to use native Promises with the
  Gio.InputStream.prototype.read_async() method, simply by not passing a
  callback to it:

      try {
          let bytes = await stream.read_bytes_async(count, priority, cancel);
      } catch (e) {
          logError(e, 'Failed to read bytes');
      }

  Note that any "success" boolean return values are deleted from the array of
  return values from the async method. That is,

      let [contents, etag] = file.load_contents_async(cancel);

  whereas the callback version still returns a useless [ok, contents, etag]
  that can never be false, since on false an exception would be thrown. In the
  callback version, we must keep this for compatibility reasons.

  Note that due to a bug in GJS (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gjs/issues/189),
  promisifying methods on Gio.File.prototype and other interface prototypes will
  not work. We provide the API Gio._LocalFilePrototype on which you can
  promisify methods that will work on Gio.File instances on the local disk only:

      Gio._promisify(Gio._LocalFilePrototype, 'load_contents_async',
          'load_contents_finish');

  We estimate this will cover many common use cases.

  Since this is a technology preview, we do not guarantee API stability with
  the version coming in GNOME 3.32. These APIs are marked with underscores to
  emphasize that they are not stable yet. Use them at your own risk.

- Closed bugs and merge requests:
  * Added promisify to GJS GIO overrides [!225, Avi Zajac]
  * Temporary fix for Gio.File.prototype [!226, Avi Zajac]

Version 1.53.91

  * Fix example eslint errors [!207, Claudio André, Philip Chimento]
  * Fix more "lost" GInterface properties [!223, Florian Müllner]
  * Fix --enable-installed-tests when built from a tarball [!224, Simon
    McVittie]

Version 1.53.90
---------------

- GJS now depends on SpiderMonkey 60 and requires a compiler capable of C++14.

- GJS includes a simple debugger now. It has basic stepping, breaking, and
  printing commands, that work like GDB. Activate it by running the GJS console
  interpreter with the -d or --debugger flag before the name of the JS program
  on the command line.

- New API for programs that embed GJS: gjs_context_setup_debugger_console().
  To integrate the debugger into programs that embed the GJS interpreter, call
  this before executing the JS program.

- New JavaScript features! This version of GJS is based on SpiderMonkey 60, an
  upgrade from the previous ESR (Extended Support Release) of SpiderMonkey 52.
  Here are the highlights of the new JavaScript features.
  For more information, look them up on MDN or devdocs.io.

  * New syntax
    + `for await (... of ...)` syntax is used for async iteration.
    + The rest operator is now supported in object destructuring: e.g.
      `({a, b, ...cd} = {a: 1, b: 2, c: 3, d: 4});`
    + The spread operator is now supported in object literals: e.g.
      `mergedObject = {...obj1, ...obj2};`
    + Generator methods can now be async, using the `async function*` syntax,
      or `async* f() {...}` method shorthand.
    + It's now allowed to omit the variable binding from a catch statement, if
      you don't need to access the thrown exception: `try {...} catch {}`

  * New APIs
    + Promise.prototype.finally(), popular in many third-party Promise
      libraries, is now available natively.
    + String.prototype.toLocaleLowerCase() and
      String.prototype.toLocaleUpperCase() now take an optional locale or
      array of locales.
    + Intl.PluralRules is now available.
    + Intl.NumberFormat.protoype.formatToParts() is now available.
    + Intl.Collator now has a caseFirst option.
    + Intl.DateTimeFormat now has an hourCycle option.

  * New behaviour
    + There are a lot of minor behaviour changes as SpiderMonkey's JS
      implementation conforms ever closer to ECMAScript standards. For complete
      information, read the Firefox developer release notes:

  * Backwards-incompatible changes
    + Conditional catch clauses have been removed, as they were a Mozilla
      extension which will not be standardized. This requires some attention in
      GJS programs, as previously we condoned code like `catch (e if
      e.matches(Gio.IOError, Gio.IOError.EXISTS))`  with a comment in
      overrides/GLib.js, so it's likely this is used in several places.
    + The nonstandard `for each (... in ...)` loop was removed.
    + The nonstandard legacy lambda syntax (`function(x) x*x`) was removed.
    + The nonstandard Mozilla iteration protocol was removed, as well as
      nonstandard Mozilla generators, including the Iterator and StopIteration
      objects, and the Function.prototype.isGenerator() method.
    + Array comprehensions and generator comprehensions have been removed.
    + Several nonstandard methods were removed: ArrayBuffer.slice() (but not
      the standard version, ArrayBuffer.prototype.slice()),
      Date.prototype.toLocaleFormat(), Function.prototype.isGenerator(),
      Object.prototype.watch(), and Object.prototype.unwatch().

- Many of the above backwards-incompatible changes can be caught by scanning
  your source code using https://gitlab.gnome.org/ptomato/moz60tool, or
  https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1455/spidermonkey-60-migration-validator/

- Deprecation: the custom ByteArray is now discouraged. Instead of ByteArray,
  use Javascript's native Uint8Array. The ByteArray module still contains
  functions for converting between byte arrays, strings, and GLib.Bytes
  instances.

  The old ByteArray will continue to work as before, except that Uint8Array
  will now be returned from introspected functions that previously returned a
  ByteArray. To keep your old code working, change this:

      let byteArray = functionThatReturnsByteArray();

  to this:

      let byteArray = new ByteArray.ByteArray(functionThatReturnsByteArray());

  To port to the new code:

  * ByteArray.ByteArray -> Uint8Array
  * ByteArray.fromArray() -> Uint8Array.from()
  * ByteArray.ByteArray.prototype.toString() -> ByteArray.toString()
  * ByteArray.ByteArray.prototype.toGBytes() -> ByteArray.toGBytes()
  * ByteArray.fromString(), ByteArray.fromGBytes() remain the same

  * Unlike ByteArray, Uint8Array's length is fixed. Assigning an element past
    the end of a ByteArray would lengthen the array. Now, it is ignored.
    Instead use Uint8Array.of(), for example, this code:

        let a = ByteArray.fromArray([97, 98, 99, 100]);
        a[4] = 101;

    should be replaced by this code:

        let a = Uint8Array.from([97, 98, 99, 100]);
        a = Uint8Array.of(...a, 101);

    The length of the byte array must be set at creation time. This code will
    not work anymore:

        let a = new ByteArray.ByteArray();
        a[0] = 255;

    Instead, use "new Uint8Array(1)" to reserve the correct length.

This update to the Cascadia font family brings the following changes:

    The full control pictures block has been added (u+2400 to u+2426). For purposes of rendering, the two letter
    abbreviations have been used instead of the standard three letter abbreviations (#219)
        image
        Additionally, ss20 includes the oft-unused graphical representations of these codepoints (for fun!)
        image

    Full support for Fira Code's current ligature set (with a few exceptions). Now featuring infinite arrows!!! (#276)
        image
        This involved a full refactoring of the calt feature—for those interested, it now uses forward-looking
        substitutions instead of backward-looking substitutions and progressive substitution to reduce code. This also
        required some redesigning of the greater / lesser related ligatures. Please note, I have also removed all the
        obsolete ligatures now covered by the arrows code.

    There was a mismatch in the font's postscript naming conventions that was corrected. Should now render all weights in
    Word. Note there is apparently an additional bug in Mac Word's implementation of variable fonts which should be
    available in an update mid-Feb. (#329)

    Reworked the hints for the mod and superscript glyphs so that they're bottom-up rather than top-down. This allows for
    better bottom alignments.

New Glyphs

    ⏎ (#262)
    additional codepoints for control characters U+21B2, U+2771, U+2770, U+2423 (#264)
    U+211E ℞ (#324)
    U+2302 HOUSE (#359)

New Ligatures

    !: and !. added (#281)
    /\ and \/ added (#290)
    ??= added (#301)
    <:> and other variants implemented via the calt (#327)
    refactoring

Changes

    Added x-height instruction into ttfautohint to control the (#371)
    height of the lowercase.
    Completely redesigned quote marks for better recognition (#375)
        image
        Note: this only applies to curved/smart quotes
    updated hinting to achieve more consistent results (#377)
    increased height of thetamod (#381)
    reduced the width of the hooklefts (#382)
        image
    updated heights on esh, glottalstop, glottalstopreversed (#383)
        image
    tweaked hinting a little bit (#384)
    added remaining soft-dotting (#386)
        image
    changed designs of the angled quotes (#392)
        image
    changed former ~= symbol to a simpler component-based (#394)
    version. Should be less confusing now for Lua / Matlab users.
    made the underline thicker based on font weight (#395)
        image
    increased size of degree (#400)

Aside from the above changes, this version also includes many other small updates including spacing, outline quality
improvements, and fixing hinting.

Version 2.50.3

- #601 - Compute correct bounds for objects with stroke-width=0.

- #545 - Fix MacOS build (Ignacio Casal Quinteiro, Christian Hergert).

- Fix test suite on Rust 1.49 (Sven Neumann).

Version 2.50.2

- #642 - Fix dx/dy offsets in nested <tspan> elements.

Version 2.50.1

- #615: SVG2: Support a chain of uri() filters in the "filter" property
  (John Ledbetter, Sven Neumann).

- #483: Support CSS selectors for attribute matching, like rect[attr^="prefix"]

- #554: Fixed the geometry_for_layer() APIs to not ignore the passed viewport.

- Fixed CSS "import" so it allows only files from the same base directory
  (Lars Schmertmann).

- #623 - The pkg-config files (*.pc) do not define the 'svgz_supported' and
  'css_supported' variables anymore. These variables were hardcoded
  to 'true' and unchanged since 2011.

- #624 - The source repository no longer produces a librsvg-uninstalled.pc file.

Version 2.50.0

- The following is a summary of changes between 2.48.x and 2.50.0. For
  full details, please see the 2.49.x release notes below.

- This release requires at least Rust 1.40.

- Windows builds now support ARM64, thanks to Chun-wei Fan.

- Librsvg now consumes much less memory for large SVG files. The limit for
  the maximum number of elements in an SVG is bigger now at 1 million
  elements (this limit exists to avoid unbounded memory consumption by
  maliciously large files, and is plenty to render even very detailed
  maps). Thanks to Sergey "Shnatsel" Davidoff and Adam Reichold for making
  this possible.

- #34 - The 'font' shorthand in is now supported in CSS. Librsvg
  ignores the 'line-height' sub-property because it cannot be done
  easily with Pango, but everything else in 'font' should work now.

- Many new features from SVG2:

- #508 - radialGradient now supports the "fr" property from SVG2
  (Dunja Lalic, Corentin Rossignon).

- #568 - Support href attribute in addition to xlink:href per SVG2.

- #560 - Ignore missing filter references per SVG2.

- #607 - Support the mix-blend-mode property from SVG2 and the
  Compositing and Blending Level 1 specification, so layers can be
  composited with operators like multiply/screen/color-burn, etc.
  https://www.w3.org/TR/compositing-1/ (John Ledbetter).

- #473 - Support the paint-order property from SVG2, so one can pick
  the order in which a path's fill/stroke/markers are drawn (John Ledbetter).

- Many bug fixes and little optimizations; see the 2.49.x release notes for
  details. Thanks to Paolo Borelli, Daniel Kolesa, Ernestas Kulik.
  Sven Neumann, Bastien Orivel, Jordan Petridis, Emile Snyder.

- Special thanks to Sven Neumann for fixing all the cargo-clippy lints.

Version 2.49.5

- #607 - Support the mix-blend-mode property from SVG2 and the
  Compositing and Blending Level 1 specification, so layers can be
  composited with operators like multiply/screen/color-burn, etc.
  https://www.w3.org/TR/compositing-1/ (John Ledbetter).

- #473 - Support the paint-order property from SVG2, so one can pick
  the order in which a path's fill/stroke/markers are drawn (John Ledbetter).

- Cleanups of the basic drawing and paint-handling code (Paolo Borelli).

- Many style fixes per cargo-clippy (Sven Neumann).

- Improved documentation on the library's internals.

Version 2.49.4

- Support ARM64 Windows builds (Chun-wei Fan).

- #165 - Draw zero-length paths with square caps correctly (Bastien Orivel).

- #568 - Support href attribute in addition to xlink:href per SVG2.

- #560 - Ignore missing filter references per SVG2.

- #609 - Support the transform attribute again in clipPath (Sven Neumann).

- Update Criterion benchmarks (Ernestas Kulik).

- Update to newer dependencies (Bastien Orivel).

- Many style fixes per cargo-clippy (Dunja Lalic, Sven Neumann).

Version 2.49.3

- #34 - The 'font' shorthand in is now supported in CSS. Librsvg
  ignores the 'line-height' sub-property because it cannot be done
  easily with Pango, but everything else in 'font' should work now.

- #605 - Compute 'bolder' and 'lighter' font-weight correctly.

- #219 - Make the path parser have a tokenizer/parser (Emile Snyder).

- Fixes for the CI after the gitlab.gnome.org changes (Jordan Petridis).

- Fixed some typos in the documentation (codespell is awesome!).

Version 2.49.2

- Fix failing tests.

Version 2.49.1

- (#604) - Fix build on big-endian machines. Thanks to Daniel Kolesa
  for testing this repeatedly.

Version 2.49.0

- Memory consumption of parsed SVG data is greatly reduced. Property
  values, path data, and text nodes now use much less memory than
  before. Thanks to Sergey "Shnatsel" Davidoff and Adam Reichold for
  their contributions.

- With that reduction in memory consumption, librsvg can now load up
  to 1 million XML elements. This is a hard limit to avoid malicious
  files consuming arbitrary amounts of memory.

- #508 - radialGradient now supports the "fr" property from SVG2
  (Dunja Lalic, Corentin Rossignon).

- Sven Neumann has written a fantastic test suite for rsvg-convert(1).
  Now we can modify this program with confidence.

- Many, many cleanups (Paolo Borelli).

- #594 - Only compute locale information for elements that need it.

- As usual, thanks to Bastien Orivel for keeping dependent crates updated.

- Fix Windows builds without PangoFT2.

- Benchmarks of internal functions work now. You can run "cargo bench"
  in librsvg/ and rsvg_internals/.

Version 2.48.5

- #577 - Support multiple fonts in the font-family property (Bastien Orivel).
  Previously in font-family="Foo, Bar, Baz" only Foo would get used.

- #591 - Catch overflow when rendering files with a huge viewBox.

- #593 - Don't panic with an empty objectBoundingBox for a mask.

- #596 - Fix introspection data for rsvg_handle_set_stylesheet (Sutou Kouhei).

- Fixes to the librsvg_crate documentation (Abraham Toriz).

- Loading raster images for inclusion in an SVG and producing
  GdkPixbufs is now faster.

Version 2.48.4

- #590 - Fix regression when rendering masks.

- #588 - Fix panic when a big viewBox creates an invalid transform.

- #592 - Fix invalid argument to g_log_structured_array()

httpuv 1.6.1
============

* The `timegm()` function is a non-standard GNU extension, so it has
  been replaced with an internal `timegm2()` function. (#300)

httpuv 1.6.0
============

* Remove BH dependency. httpuv now requires a compiler which supports
  C++11. (#297)

httpuv 1.5.5
============

* Fix SHA1 calculation, and thus WebSocket server handshakes, on
  big-endian systems. (#284)

* Fixed #195: Responses required `headers` to be a named list. Now it
  can also be `NULL`, an empty unnamed list, or it can be
  unset. (#289)

* Allow responses to omit `body` (or set it as `NULL`) to avoid
  sending a body or setting the `Content-Length` header. This is
  intended for use with HTTP 204/304 responses. (#288)

httpuv 1.5.4
============

* Fixed #275: Large HTTP request headers could get truncated if they
  spanned more than one TCP message. (#277)

* Fixed build for Solaris. (#271)

* Fixed a test that had incorrect logic. (#272)

httpuv 1.5.3.1
==============

* Updated libuv to version 1.37.0. (#266)

* Fixed #204: On UBSAN builds of R, there were warnings about
  unaligned memory access. (#246)

* Avoid creating a new Rook error stream object for each request. This
  should improve performance. (#245)

* Resolved #247: httpuv no longer returns a HTTP 400 code for static
  files when the "Content-Length" header is 0. This Content-Length
  header is inserted by some proxies even for messages without
  payloads. (#248)

* Resolved #253: Setting the FRAMEWORK environment variable would
  break compilation. This change removes any dependency on that
  variable. (#254)

httpuv 1.5.2
============

* In the static file-serving code path, httpuv previously looked for a
  `Connection: upgrade` header; if it found this header, it would not
  try to serve a static file, and it would instead forward the HTTP
  request to the R code path. However, some proxies are configured to
  always set this header, even when the connection is not actually
  meant to be upgraded. Now, instead of looking for a `Connection:
  upgrade` header, httpuv looks for the presence of an `Upgrade`
  header (with any value), and should be more robust to
  incorrectly-configured proxies. (#215)

* Fixed handling of messages without payloads: (#219)

* Fixed #224: Static file serving on Windows did not work correctly if
  it was from a path that contained non-ASCII characters. (#227)

* Resolved #194, #233: Added a `quiet` option to `startServer`, which
  suppresses startup error messages that are normally printed to
  console (and can't be intercepted with `capture.output()`). (#234)

* Added a new function `randomPort()`, which returns a random
  available port for listening on. (#234)

* Added a new (unexported) function `logLevel()`, for controlling
  debugging information that will be printed to the
  console. Previously, httpuv occasionally printed messages like
  `ERROR: [uv_write] broken pipe` and `ERROR: [uv_write] bad file
  descriptor` by default. This happened when the server tried to write
  to a pipe that was already closed, but the situation was not
  harmful, and was already being handled correctly. Now these messages
  are printed only if the log level is set to `INFO` or
  `DEBUG`. (#223)

* If an application's `$call()` method is missing, it will now give a
  404 response instead of a 500 response. (#237)

* Disallowed backslash in static path, to prevent path traversal attacks. (#235)

* Static file serving on Windows could fail if multiple requests
  accessed the same file simultaneously. (#239)

## 1.7.4 (2021-08-12)

* [BUGFIX] #449: Fixed segfaults generated by `stri_sprintf`.

* [BUILD TIME] No longer defining `USE_RINTERNALS` and `R_NO_REMAP`.

## 1.7.3 (2021-07-15)

* [BUGFIX] Fixed the previous patch of ICU55 causing a build failure on,
  amongst others, CRAN's Solaris-based target.

## 1.7.2 (2021-07-14)

* [BUGFIX] Workaround for a bug in `tools::checkFF` failing
  when `NA_character_` is passed to `.Call`.

## 1.7.1 (2021-07-14)

* [BACKWARD INCOMPATIBILITY] `%s$%` and `%stri$%` now use the new `stri_sprintf`
  (see below) function instead of `base::sprintf`.

* [BACKWARD INCOMPATIBILITY, NEW FEATURE] In `stri_sub<-` and `stri_sub_all<-`,
  providing a negative `length` from now on does not result in the corresponding
  input string being altered.

* [BACKWARD INCOMPATIBILITY, NEW FEATURE] In `stri_sub` and `stri_sub_all`,
  negative `length` results in the corresponding output being `NA`
  or not extracted at all, depending on the setting of the new argument
  `ignore_negative_length`.

* [BACKWARD INCOMPATIBILITY, BUGFIX, NEW FEATURE] In `stri_subset*`
  and their replacement versions, `pattern` and `value` cannot be longer
  than `str` (but now they are recycled if necessary).

* [BACKWARD INCOMPATIBILITY, NEW FEATURE] `stri_sub*` now accept the
  `from` argument being a matrix like `cbind(from, length=length)`.
  Unnamed columns or any other names are still interpreted as `cbind(from, to)`.
  Also, the new argument `use_matrix` can be used to disable
  the special treatment of such matrices.

* [DOCUMENTATION] It has been clarified that the syntax of `*_charclass`
  (e.g., used in `stri_trim*`) differs slightly from regex character
  classes.

* [NEW FEATURE] #420: `stri_sprintf` (alias: `stri_string_format`)
  is a Unicode-aware replacement for and enhancement of the base `sprintf`:
  it adds a customised handling of `NA`s (on demand), computing field size
  based on code point width, outputting substrings of at most given width,
  variable width and precision (both at the same time), etc. Moreover,
  `stri_printf` can be used to display formatted strings conveniently.

* [NEW FEATURE] #153: `stri_match_*_regex` now extract capture group names.

* [NEW FEATURE] #25: `stri_locate_*_regex` now have a new argument,
  `capture_groups`, which allows for extracting positions of matches
  to parenthesised subexpressions.

* [NEW FEATURE] `stri_locate_*` now have a new argument, `get_length`,
  whose setting may result in generating *from-length* matrices
  (instead of *from-to* ones).

* [NEW FEATURE] #438: `stri_trans_general` now supports rule-based
  as well as reverse-direction transliteration.

* [NEW FEATURE] #434: `stri_datetime_format` and `stri_datetime_parse`
  are now vectorised also with respect to the `format` argument.

* [NEW FEATURE] `stri_datetime_fstr` has a new argument, `ignore_special`,
  which defaults to `TRUE` for backward compatibility.

* [NEW FEATURE] `stri_datetime_format`, `stri_datetime_add`, and
  `stri_datetime_fields` now call `as.POSIXct` more eagerly.

* [NEW FEATURE] `stri_trim*` now have a new argument, `negate`.

* [NEW FEATURE] `stri_replace_rstr` converts `gsub`-style replacement strings
  to `stri_replace`-style.

* [INTERNAL] `stri_prepare_arg*` have been refactored, buffer overruns
  in the exception handling subsystem are now avoided.

* [BUGFIX] Few functions (`stri_length`, `stri_enc_toutf32`, etc.)
  did not throw an exception on an invalid UTF-8
  byte sequence (and merely issued a warning instead).

* [BUGFIX] `stri_datetime_fstr` did not honour `NA_character_`
  and did not parse format strings such as `"%Y%m%d"` correctly.
  It has now been completely rewritten (in C).

* [BUGFIX] `stri_wrap` did not recognise the width of certain Unicode sequences
  correctly.

## 1.6.2 (2021-05-14)

* [BACKWARD INCOMPATIBILITY] In `stri_enc_list()`,
  `simplify` now defaults to `TRUE`.

* [NEW FEATURE] #425: The outputs of `stri_enc_list()`, `stri_locale_list()`,
  `stri_timezone_list()`, and `stri_trans_list()` are now sorted.

* [NEW FEATURE] #428: In `stri_flatten`, `na_empty=NA` now omits missing values.

* [BUILD TIME] #431: Pre-4.9.0 GCC has `::max_align_t`,
  but not `std::max_align_t`, added a (possible) workaround, see the `INSTALL`
  file.

* [BUGFIX] #429: `stri_width()` misclassified the width of certain
  code points (including grave accent, Eszett, etc.);
  General category *Sk* (Symbol, modifier) is no longer of width 0,
  `UCHAR_EAST_ASIAN_WIDTH` of `U_EA_AMBIGUOUS` is no longer of width 2.

* [BUGFIX] #354: `ALTREP` `CHARSXP`s were not copied, and thus could have been
  garbage collected in the so-called meanwhile (with thanks to @jimhester).

## 1.6.1 (2021-05-05)

* [GENERAL] #401: stringi is now bundled with ICU4C 69.1 (upgraded from 61.1),
  which is used on most Windows and OS X builds as well as on *nix systems
  not equipped with system ICU. However, if the C++11 support is disabled,
  stringi will be built against the battle-tested ICU4C 55.1.
  The update to ICU brings Unicode 13.0 and CLDR 39 support.

* [DOCUMENTATION] A draft version of a paper on `stringi` is now available at
  https://stringi.gagolewski.com/_static/vignette/stringi.pdf

* [GENERAL] stringi now requires R >= 3.1 (`CXX_STD` of `CXX11` or `CXX1X`).

* [NEW FEATURE] #408: `stri_trans_casefold()` performs case folding;
  this is different from case mapping, which is locale-dependent.
  Folding makes two pieces of text that differ only in case identical.
  This can come in handy when comparing strings.

* [NEW FEATURE] #421: `stri_rank()` ranks strings in a character vector
  (e.g., for ordering data frames with regards to multiple criteria,
  the ranks can be passed to `order()`, see #219).

* [NEW FEATURE] #266: `stri_width()` now supports emojis.

* [NEW FEATURE] `%s$%` and `%stri$%` are now vectorised with respect to
  both arguments.

* [BUGFIX] `stri_sort_key()` now outputs `bytes`-encoded strings.

* [BUGFIX] #415: `locale=''` was not equivalent to `locale=NULL`
  in `stri_opts_collator()`.

* [INTERNAL] #414: Use `LEVELS(x)` macro instead of accessing `(x)->sxpinfo.gp`
  directly (@lukaszdaniel).

## 1.5.3 (2020-09-04)

* [DOCUMENTATION] stringi home page has moved to https://stringi.gagolewski.com
  and now includes a comprehensive reference manual.

* [NEW FEATURE] #400: `%s$%` and `%stri$%` are now binary operators
  that call base R's `sprintf()`.

* [NEW FEATURE] #399: The `%s*%` and `%stri*%` operators can be used
  in addition to `stri_dup()`, for the very same purpose.

* [NEW FEATURE] #355: `stri_opts_regex()` now accepts the `time_limit` and
  `stack_limit` options so as to prevent malformed or malicious regexes
  from running for too long.

* [NEW FEATURE] #345: `stri_startswith()` and `stri_endswith()` are now equipped
  with the `negate` parameter.

* [NEW FEATURE] #382: Incorrect regexes are now reported to ease debugging.

* [DEPRECATION WARNING] #347: Any unknown option passed to `stri_opts_fixed()`,
  `stri_opts_regex()`, `stri_opts_coll()`, and `stri_opts_brkiter()` now
  generates a warning. In the future, the `...` parameter will be removed,
  so that will be an error.

* [DEPRECATION WARNING] `stri_duplicated()`'s `fromLast` argument
  has been renamed `from_last`. `fromLast` is now its alias scheduled
  for removal in a future version of the package.

* [DEPRECATION WARNING] `stri_enc_detect2()`
  is scheduled for removal in a future version of the package.
  Use `stri_enc_detect()` or the more targeted `stri_enc_isutf8()`,
  `stri_enc_isascii()`, etc., instead.

* [DEPRECATION WARNING] `stri_read_lines()`,  `stri_write_lines()`,
  `stri_read_raw()`: use `con` argument instead of `fname` now.
  The argument `fallback_encoding` is scheduled for removal and is no longer
  used. `stri_read_lines()` does not support `encoding="auto"` anymore.

* [DEPRECATION WARNING] `nparagraphs` in `stri_rand_lipsum()` has been renamed
  `n_paragraphs`.

* [NEW FEATURE] #398: Alternative, British spelling of function parameters
  has been introduced, e.g., `stri_opts_coll()` now supports both
  `normalization` and `normalisation`.

* [NEW FEATURE] #393: `stri_read_bin()`, `stri_read_lines()`, and
  `stri_write_lines()` are no longer marked as draft API.

* [NEW FEATURE] #187: `stri_read_bin()`, `stri_read_lines()`, and
  `stri_write_lines()` now support connection objects as well.

* [NEW FEATURE] #386: New function `stri_sort_key()` for generating
  locale-dependent sort keys which can be ordered at the byte level and
  return an equivalent ordering to the original string (@DavisVaughan).

* [BUGFIX] #138: `stri_encode()` and `stri_rand_strings()`
  now can generate strings of much larger lengths.

* [BUGFIX] `stri_wrap()` did not honour `indent` correctly when
  `use_width` was `TRUE`.

This release introduces support for retries & timeouts (see
https://rest.sh/#/retries for details), and makes the management
of bulk resources more resilient to partial failures along with a
few small bug fixes.

Note: Some HTTP response codes (408, 425, 429, 500, 502, 503, 504)
are now retried by default. Use --rsh-retry=0 or RSH_RETRY=0 to
disable this behavior if needed.

texmath (0.12.8.4)
  * TeX reader: ignore `\allowbreak` (#230).
  * TeX reader: handle `*{5}{lr}` in array column specifier (#229).
  * OMML reader: allow `m:e` to be missing in `m:nary` (#228).
    Technically this is not allowed, according to the spec, but
    Word and LibreOffice seem to tolerate it.

texmath (0.12.8.3)
  * OMML writer: use "on" and "off" instead of "1" and "0" for
    m:CT_OnOff type. It is said that "1" and "0" work in Word
    but not Powerpoint.

texmath (0.12.8.2)
  * Typst writer: use binom instead of a fraction (jgm/pandoc#9063).

texmath (0.12.8.1)
  * Typst writer: several fixes (#223, Lleu Yang).
    + Escape quotes (") in inQuotes
    + Accent `\8407` corresponds to `arrow()`
    + Write `#none`'s for matrices with blanks at the beginning of a row

texmath (0.12.8)
  * Expose Text.TeXMath.Shared [API change]
  * Typst writer: Fix bug where 's' turned into 'space' (#219).
  * Typst writer: Fix handling of overline (#214).
  * Typst writer: Fix underbrace (#217).
  * Typst writer: Improve some accents (#216).
  * TeX writer: don't include \ on last line of matrix.
  * TeX writer: Remove escaping of spaces inside \text{}.
    It isn't needed, and it causes problems in MathJax rendering.
  * TeX reader: allow empty matrices.
  * MathML writer: Fix rendering of vectors (#218).
  * Depend on external typst-symbols package.

texmath (0.12.7.1)
 * Typst writer:
   + Improve under/overbrace/bracket/line.
   + Fix bugs with super/subscript grouping (#212).
   + Fix case where super/subscript is on an empty element,
     by inserting a zws.

texmath (0.12.7)
  * Add typst writer. New module: Text.TeXMath.Writers.Typst.
  * TeX reader: Support multilined environment. Closes #210.

        but in a future release only passing via `cert` will be

v0.4.1
Fixes
    Fix an issue where fonts can fail to be detected on some systems (#250)

Docs
    Update the repo link to our newly minted organization (#251)

v0.4.0
I'd like to start with a huge thanks to all of our contributors. This release
wouldn't have happened nearly as soon, nor would it have had as many fixes and
features without everyone's help ❤️
Breaking Changes
    Completions are now generated ahead of time and provided with the release
    assets instead of the old --gen-completions <SHELL> flag
    The default light theme code-highlighter was changed from the
    inpsired-github to the new github syntax highlighter
    We have a new wayland feature that is enabled by default for clipboard
    support. If you don't use wayland and you run into wayland related build
    errors then consider building with the --no-default-features with the
    optional --features x11 if you're using Xorg still
    The default zoom-out keybind is now <Ctrl+=> instead of <Ctrl++> and
    zoom-reset is now unbound by default instead of <Ctrl+=>

Features
    Font fallback is now supported 🎉 (less tofu --> more emojis)
    A lot more embedded syntax highlighting themes (#219)
        The full list is always in the inlyne.default.toml file
    Add clipboard support for wayland (#243)
    Add support for color-scheme specific <picture>s (#236)
    Underlines are now supported in syntax highlighting (#221 and #225)
    extra keybindings now override base (#224)
    Use human-panic for more user-friendly panic messages (#172)
    Support table column alignment (#136)
    Use taffy for laying out tables (#129)

Fixes
    Inherit alignment for headers (#241)
    Allow for px suffix on pixel length (#238)
    Mimic GitHub's anchorizer for creating headers' anchor links (#227)
    Correctly reset table column alignment (#218)
    Reset scroll on markdown navigation (#213)
    Debounce file watcher events (#200)
    More gracefully handle failures in image loading (#187)
    Switch the TLS library from openssl to rustls (#179)
        Fixes some issues with window's failing some image requests

Documentation
    Document fontconfig dependency (#220)

Internal
    The usual swarm of non-user-facing changes

2024.84 - 4 April 2024

Features and Changes:
  Note >> for compatibility/configuration changes

- >> Only use /etc/shadow when a user has ❌ as the crypt in /etc/passwd.
  This is the documented behaviour of passwd(5) so should be consistent with
  other programs. Thanks to Paulo Cabral for the report.
  Note that any users without x as the crypt will not be able
  to log in with /etc/shadow, in cases were the existing configuration
  differs.

- Support -o StrictHostKeyChecking, patch from Sergey Ponomarev

- Support -o BatchMode, from Sergey Ponomarev and Hans Harder

- Support various other -o options compatible with OpenSSH, from
  Sergey Ponomarev. Includes -o PasswordAuthentication

- Add dbclient config file support, ~/.ssh/dropbear_config
  Thanks to tjkolev
  Disabled by default, set #define DROPBEAR_USE_SSH_CONFIG 1

- Add support for unix socket forwarding (destination) on
  the server, thanks to WangYi for the implementation

- Add option to bind to interface, from Diederik De Coninck

- Ignore unsupported arguments in dropbearkey, allow running
  binary as 'ssh-key'. From Sergey Ponomarev

- Save a public key file on generation with dropbearkey.
  -C can be used for a comment, and choose a default key
  type (ed25519 first preference).
  Thanks to Sergey Ponomarev

- Allow inetd to run in non-syslog modes. Thanks to Laurent Bercot
  for the report

- Allow user's own gid in PTY permissions, lets Dropbear work as non-root
  even if /dev/pts isn't mounted with gid=5

- src/distrooptions.h can now be used as another config file.
  This can be used by distributions for customisations (separate
  to the build directory's localoptions.h)

Fixes:

- "dbclient host >> output" would previously overwrite "output", instead of
  appending. Thanks for the report from eSotoIoT

- Add "Strict KEX" support. This mitigates a SSH protocol flaw which lets
  a MITM attacker silently remove packets immediately after the
  first key exchange. At present the flaw does not seem to reduce Dropbear's
  security (the only packet affected would be a server-sig-algs extension,
  which is used for compatibility not security).
  For Dropbear, chacha20-poly1305 is the only affected cipher.
  Both sides of the connection must support Strict KEX for it to be used.

  The protocol flaw is tracked as CVE-2023-48795, details
  at https://terrapin-attack.com . Thanks to the researchers Fabian Bäumer,
  Marcus Brinkmann, and Jörg Schwenk. Thanks to OpenSSH for specifying
  strict KEX mode.

- Fix blocking while closing forwarded TCP sessions. Noticable
  when many connections are being forwarded. Reported and
  tested by GektorUA. Github #230

- Don't offer RSA (then fail) if there is no RSA key. Regression in 2020.79
  Github #219

- Fix missing response to remote TCP requests when it is disabled.
  Patch from Justin Chen. Github #254

- Fix building with DROPBEAR_RSA disabled

- /proc/timer_list is no longer used for entropy, it was a bottleneck.
  Thanks to Aleksei Plotnikov for the report.

- Don't unconditionally enable DROPBEAR_DSS

- Make banner reading failure non-fatal

- Fix DROPBEAR_SVR_MULTIUSER. This appears to have been broken since when it
  was added in 2019. If you're using this let me know (it might be removed
  if I don't hear otherwise). Thanks to davidatrsp

- Fix Y2038 issues

Infrastructure:

- Move source files to src/ subdirectory. Thanks to tjkolev

- Remove more files with "make distclean"

- Add tests for disabled options
