GoPenguin 1.3.9
GoPenguin 1.3.9
- Store game resources separately on SD so future application downloads can reuse unchanged files.
- Keep preparing updates while playing and install only when you choose Install now.
- Include the igloo navigation and recovery fixes from 1.3.8.
Older clients receive the complete 1.3.8 update first. Install it, close GoPenguin when installation finishes and reopen it to receive 1.3.9. The first migration copies and verifies about 276 MB of existing resources on SD. Allow space for those files and the temporary application update. Preparation stops if the required files cannot be verified. Full resource repair remains available.
Your saved penguin is retained. Existing artwork and Old/New frame-rate modes are retained. Host, sanitizer and native Old/New emulator checks passed. Physical-console migration, SD/Wi-Fi performance and battery life remain unverified.
GoPenguin 1.3.8
GoPenguin 1.3.8
- Prepare update downloads and verification while playing. Pause preparation or return to the island, then choose Install now when ready.
- Igloo navigation prioritizes its required resources, reuses a matching loaded scenario and keeps repeated taps from restarting the wait. Missing replies are retried, and timed-out requests can be opened again.
- Fix entering an igloo from a mission or minigame.
- Reduce repeated update I/O while retaining size, SHA-256, application identity and installed-version checks.
This complete update prepares older clients for the smaller application packages introduced in 1.3.9. Install 1.3.8 from Help > Account > Updates, close GoPenguin when installation finishes and reopen it before preparing the next update. Your saved penguin is retained.
Existing artwork and Old/New frame-rate modes are retained. Host, sanitizer and native Old/New emulator checks passed. Physical-console installation, SD/Wi-Fi performance and battery life remain unverified.
GoPenguin 1.3.7
GoPenguin 1.3.7
- Play PSA Mission 2, G's Secret Mission, on PC and Nintendo 3DS. Solve G's riddle, test the prototype sled, survive in the wilderness and earn the mission rewards. Mission progress is saved by the server.
- Choose between the first two PSA missions from the mission menu.
- On Nintendo 3DS, G's dialogue and responses use larger, paged text. The secret-word form follows the original mission and supports the system keyboard.
- The survival guide shows its four original illustrated spreads and all eight pages of text. Nintendo 3DS provides readable text on the touch screen with page navigation.
- Sharper Nintendo 3DS art in Town, Coffee Shop, Book Room, Pizza Parlor, Dance Lounge, Gift Shop, Ski Village, Ski Lodge and Lodge Attic, plus Cart Surfer and Pizzatron.
- Less repeated graphics preparation in Cart Surfer, Hydro Hopper, Puffle Round-Up, Thin Ice and Sled Racing on Nintendo 3DS.
Install the optional update from Help > Account > Updates. Your saved penguin is retained. Complete CIA and 3DSX packages remain available.
This is a playable adaptation of Mission 2. Original mission audio and some cutscene details remain unfinished. Missions 3–11 are not included.
Browser, native controller, sanitizer and Old 3DS profile emulator checks passed. Physical-console installation, LCD appearance and frame-rate changes remain unverified. See the full changelog.
GoPenguin v1.3.6
GoPenguin 1.3.6
- Halloween is over. Town, the Coffee Shop, the Dance Club, the Gift Shop, the map, the music and the Town poster are back to normal.
- Fixes puffles that stayed invisible while other art was downloading.
- Walking puffles keep their last pose while the next one loads, move smoothly and arrive beside their owner in each room.
- Puffles return home in your igloo, and puffle buttons recover after a lost server reply.
- Puffles of other players are hidden with Hide other penguins.
- Snowballs thrown into the Cave Mine funnel power the light machine again.
- Penguin Style now shows the November catalogue.
- The newspaper has been withdrawn.
Install the optional update from Help > Account > Updates. Keep an SD backup and your account recovery code.
PC receives the same Halloween removal, catalogue, Cave Mine and puffle arrival changes. See the full changelog.
Host and Old 3DS profile emulator checks passed. Physical-console installation remains unverified.
GoPenguin 1.3.5
GoPenguin 1.3.5
- Adds the original special outfit actions, including the pizza outfit and mining gear.
- Adds Cave Mine digging with 10 coins per normal reward and a rare 100-coin reward. Move after five rewards to keep digging.
- Makes quick Pizzatron topping taps and sauce contact register more reliably, with less repeated graphics preparation.
- Makes small catalogue Buy buttons easier to tap. Catalogue cameras ignore Circle Pad drift and retain their position while tapping, dragging and zooming.
- Recovers a saved penguin from valid SD backup files when the main identity file is damaged. If recovery is not possible, the game asks for a restore instead of creating another penguin automatically.
- Includes the memory allocator correction from libctru 2.7.1.
- Offers smaller CIA and 3DSX downloads from 1.3.4, with complete packages as fallback.
Install the optional update from Help > Account > Updates. Keep an SD backup and your account recovery code. Versions 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 require a fresh CIA or 3DSX installation.
PC also receives the outfit actions, mining and faster repeat room visits. See the full changelog.
Build, package, host, isolated multiplayer and Old/New 3DS emulator checks passed. Physical-console installation and touch acceptance remain unverified.
GoPenguin 1.3.4
GoPenguin 1.3.4 for Nintendo 3DS
This optional update restores the bottom-screen icons and the Halloween rooms, map, poster and music that were missing from recent 3DS packages. Town, Coffee Shop, Dance Club and Gift Shop use the Halloween event artwork again.
Clothing previews also restore the correct screen drawing context, so they no longer clip away icons and controls after the minimap.
Clothing loading now performs file reading, verification and decompression in a background worker. Rendering uses fewer repeated graphics state changes, and the clothing cache adapts to available memory. One penguin atlas uses 2 MiB less texture memory.
In Help > Graphics, you can enable Hide other penguins to reduce rendering and clothing memory use. It is off by default. Other players' messages, emotes, chat history and the People list remain available while their avatars are hidden. Your penguin and room guides stay visible.
The chat keyboard registers letters when you touch a key and avoids repeatedly measuring unchanged input. Send and Close still require releasing on the button.
Update from Help > Account > Updates. Smaller incremental downloads are available from 1.3.3, 1.3.0, 1.2.5 and 1.2.3, for both CIA and 3DSX. The updater retains the full-download fallback and your saved SD data. Versions 1.3.1 and 1.3.2 cannot reach the updater; install the latest CIA or 3DSX from Resources.
The changes were checked with host tests and an emulator configured as an Old 3DS with 64 MiB application memory. Physical console testing remains outstanding. Crowded rooms can still have long frames, and high outfit variety can exceed the clothing texture budget when everyone is visible.
